Alexikokopops Posted 20 July 2005 Posted 20 July 2005 My new contract coming up: Free line-rental 4p text messages Can talk for an hour but only have to pay for the first 3 minutes (standard with Vodaphone anyway) Since with my current contract I pay about £16 and get 12 and a half hours of free phone calls (which I don't realy use since I split up with the missus) and 50 free texts, with my new one I can send 400 texts for the same price. It's effectively a contract with 400 free texts, huzzah!!
Knighton Matt Posted 25 July 2005 Author Posted 25 July 2005 Ok I'm now hearing if you call o2's bluff and say you're thinking of leaving and quote a contract from another website/shop/network they'll try and get you to stay with them by offering you a great deal if you ring their cancellation line. Apparently the people on the phone get commission for every customer they prevent from leaving... Has anyone tried this before and had any success?
Ultra Posted 25 July 2005 Posted 25 July 2005 Alright KM, how you doing? Haven't seen you around on the other site for ages! I've actually just joined O2 after seven years with Vodafone. I rang Vodafone to transfer my number to the O2 account, and they offered to HALVE my line rental and DOUBLE the number of free texts per month, if I cancelled the transfer. But I was so annoyed at their implicit admission they'd been ripping me off all this time, that I went ahead with the transfer anyway! THe upgrade to a very impressive Nokia 6230 with video/radio/MP3 facilities also had something to do with it!
