Knighton Matt Posted 13 July 2005 Posted 13 July 2005 I'm looking to change mine or have some evidence of a better deal to try and get o2 to give me a better deal and a nice shiny sony k750i in the process! Anyone on here know of any good contract deals? I'm not too bothered about x-network mins but would like a lot of free off peak mins and some free texts too...
Matt Posted 13 July 2005 Posted 13 July 2005 Personally I wouldn't go on contract (Never say never though) because ok you get the phone free but whats the point in paying so much every month and after so many months you could have bought the phone, unless you use your phone alot there is no point in contract IMO. I would like a new phone my phone (Motorola V525 - I think ) has bust so i've gone back to the retro Siemens A55, but to be honest I really can't be arsed with phones anymore, years ago I loved getting new phones I loved all phones, at the end of they day my phone recieves and makes phone calls, sends and recieves texts...I'm happy, doesn't take photos something I would like but i'm not too bothered (Motorola V525 did take photos but as I said its bust) This hasn't really helped you - well its not helped you at all but its my view on contract phones...
filbertway Posted 13 July 2005 Posted 13 July 2005 i dont use my phone much, just pay £10 a month for 25 mins and 50 texts that does me If i need anymore credit i have to add it myself, simple
Alexikokopops Posted 13 July 2005 Posted 13 July 2005 My mate has a contract from the days of Genie and for £10 a month he gets: 50 free minutes a day Unlimited free texts. We exploited this on Saturday and sent 68 messages in the space of about 10 minutes to our mate Chrissy's phone (which can only hold 10 messages in teh inbox) saying "Cheese Please" in the hope she'd get us some cheese. She was still getting them at 12 the next day, over 15 hours after we started. That was fun. As for me, my current contract runs out in August and I'm getting a new one with Vodaphone because my sister starts work in their head office then, meaning discounts galore and free phones, woo!!

I have a 300 free text o2 sim (simlar to genie). I just top up £10 a month and i still get to use the £10. So i use the £10 for call time and also for txts wen i run out of the 300. I cant afford contract so i dont bother with it.
Craig Posted 14 July 2005 Posted 14 July 2005 Ordered a Sony Ericsson K750i yesterday. 1000 free messages a month, 240 minutes free a month, free bluetooth headset. £25 a month on the student plan, i thought that was quite good

I personally don't use my phone alot, I have got a deal where I paid £15 years ago and I have got 5 free text everyday forever and all I have paid is a one off £15, I use the texts occasionally more, don't really make that many phone calls as I said unless you use your phone alot I don't see a point in get contract phones, I know plenty of people who have got and want contract phones when really they don't use there phone enough to benfit from a contract offer!
Anish Posted 14 July 2005 Posted 14 July 2005 I agree with Matt (again ). I don't use my phone much and I don't see the appeal in contracts unless you are going to use all your free minutes and/or texts...the main 'winners' from contracts are the bast*rd phone companies.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 July 2005 Posted 15 July 2005 The whole point of contract phones is to find one that suits how much you use your phone. You'd have to be a bit special to buy one if you don't use your phone much.
