Guesty Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 Did anyone just watch Newsnight on BBC2. Having to apologise for their reporting of a child abuse scandal. It was comedy gold/painful - the presenter Eddie Mair was obviously not happy with his bosses and didn't really hide it. "Obviously we wanted to interview somebody from the BBC but nobody was available." His expression was a picture. "Oh great, now the sound isn't working, the journalism isn't working..." "Have they now closed the graphics department as well?" "Is Newsnight toast?" "That's all we have tonight - Newsnight will be back on Monday...Probably." Was almost like a parody. On a serious note; it's sad that now Newsnight/Media/This Morning/Defamation is the big story, and real story about the abuse victims seems to be getting lost. This whole debacle is hardly going to persuade adults who were abused as children to come forward. That poor bloke who actually spoke out (even though he had the identity of his attacker wrong) must feel awful, I feel quite sorry for him. How could Newsnight not even show him a picture just to make sure?
