I've heard from a youth team player that Pearson does nothing tactically and it's all Shakespeare, not sure of the truth in that but it's an interesting point

i vaguely recall us trying this in a pre-season friendly and was a bit of a mess, players looked lost.. remember kids, FIFA is just a game, i know it looks real but its not.. just wanted to clarify that for some people

With the current personnel I'm not convinced by the narrower midfield shapes suggested. 4-4-2 is boring but we tend to have a couple of players overlapping and seem less vulnerable to the counterattacks when we lose possession. If midfield aren't going to roll their sleeves up and cover the wide areas when needed then we get disasters like the first 45 minutes at Brighton.

4-4-2 is the only formation we look decent going forward in under Pearson.

Have you ever thought that's it's the players that can only play 4-4-2?
