Douglas 7 - WHAT A SAVE! tipped that header onto the post from Fagan I think, kicked well as well.

Stearman 6 - Looked uncomfortable first half and put in a rash challenge but picked up in the second and supplied a superb cross for Paddys goal.

Mccarthy 6 - Took his goal well but needs to stop needless fouls.

Johansson 7 - Mr cool, steady as you like.

Maybury 5 - Didn't look comfortable at left back and didnt offer much from the flanks.

Sylla 5 - A touch better but still takes too long to cross and tries too many tricks, a poor mans Ronaldo.

Gudjonsson 7 - Brilliant energy and ballwinning first half for the lazy Williams.

Williams 6 - Awful first half, still can't take a corner, perked up in the second and lead some good charges and decent through balls.

Wilcox 4 - Offered nothing, too slow and casually strolling back, reluctant to get stuck in.

De Vries 7* - Top display from the big man, our only shining light in the first half on the outfield, deserved a goal.

Connolly 5 - Quiet but showed neat touches, is he really over his thigh problem?

Subs

Hammond 6 - Looked lively again when he came on,provided a decent option and something different.

Hammill N/A

Dublin 6 - Decent knock downs and looked handy from set plays.

Douglas - 6

I can't really blame him, not even for the goal. Couldn't really see a clear view of it as I was seated fairly low down at the other side of the stadium. He caught a few crosses well and made a cracking save to keep us in the game when their striker raced clear on goal.

Stearman - 7

Elliott predictably caused him a few problems, but he generally handled him well. Offered a good attacking option down the right.

McCarthy - 6

Scored the goal, but again not convincing. Far too rash in the challenge and commits fouls in dangerous positons, which plays in to the opposition's hand (Bearing in mind our set piece problem)

Johansson - 6

He was reasonably solid, without looking totally commanding. Doesn't really instill that fear on opposing strikers, perhaps a bit too mild mannered.

Maybury - 5

Looked uncomfortable again at left back. Attempted to clear with his left foot under pressure, which gifted the ball back to Hull. Often slowed down the attack by continually cutting inside, but that's not his fault.

Sylla - 6

An improved performance, but still lookes a bit weary. He actually put some decent crosses in, but there were times where he faffed around on the ball, then lost the chance to cross it. He also seemed to leave Stearman at little exposed at times with his failure to track back. Maybe still injured?

Gudjonsson - 7

Maintaining his good start to the season with another all action display. Was overrun at times with Williams peforming his anonymous task in midfield. Tackled and distributed well.

Williams - 5

He looks our best bet in terms of creativity, but his attitude stinks at times. He didn't really want to know in the first half, and his passing was a bit wayward.

Wilcox - 7

Good 'ol Jase put in a decent performance on the left. Offered us some width, kept things simple, and put some good crosses in.

Connolly - 6

A bit quiet again. Partnership seems to be improving with de Vries. Unfortunately, he often takes too many touches in front of goal before shooting.

(Honda) de Vries - 7

Unlucky with a header in the first half, which was tipped over the bar. Holds the ball up so well when the right ball is played to him. His turning of defenders and link up play wasn't capitalised by those around him.

Subs:

Elvis - 6

Offered us some pace, but not much else unfortunately.

Dublin - 7

Hull backline were scared to challenge him in the air. Looked sharp in his brief outing.

Agreed - He should be able to clear with both feet

Williams

He looks our best bet in terms of creativity, but his attitude stinks at times. He didn't really want to know in the first half, and his passing was a bit wayward.

Agreed - He legged it down the tunnel very quickly too at the end

(Honda) de Vries

Unlucky with a header in the first half, which was tipped over the bar. Holds the ball up so well when the right ball is played to him. His turning of defenders and link up play wasn't capitalised by those around him.

Agreed - Anybody else think he looked completely knackered though

Quite an abismal performance all round in the first half, 3`s all round, and thats genorosity.

You know the saying "its a game of 2 half`s", well hull away was just that. No one got less than a 7 on 2nd half performance, all good, attacking football.

We should`ve/could`ve been behind 5-1 (mdv header, brilliantly saved by hull goalie) first half, and could`ve scored 3 or 4 2nd, without reply.

Stick with em folks, once we get rolling, we`ll be good, very good.

Think of like a this:

5 of the 6 weve played are IN the top half.

Weve done better overall against the same fixtures last season i.e stoke at home.

We also lost at home, and drew away to 2 of those who got relegated (the same results as luton and hull).

Lets strive for 3 points against sheff wed at home now, no moaning and groaning, let the game flow, be patient, AND ONLY MOAN IF THINGS ***GO*** WRONG, NOT BEFORE YOU THINK THEY MIGHT DO.
