Birmingham-born King had a respectable first-team record with City during his two-and-a-half years with the club, netting four goals in seven first-team appearances, but that wasn't enough to see him remain at Filbert Street for longer.
The striker impressed locally with Hinckley United and his top-scoring feats with them saw him catch the attention of the Foxes in January 1922.
He shone with a hat-trick for City reserves and eventually made his first-team bow against Clapham Orient in February but could not dislodge the in-form Harry Graham to spearhead the Leicester attack.
He moved on to Halifax Town in search of more first-team action and also played for Kidderminster Harriers and Nuneaton Town before finishing his career back at Hinckley.
