The striker made his name with Derby County and played a part in their Second Division championship campaign before dropping down the pecking order with the Rams and becoming more of a squad player.
He moved to Filbert Street as part of the deal that saw Paul Kitson move in the other direction. Ian Ormondroyd also made the switch from Derby to City as part of the deal. He helped the Foxes to their first play-off campaign but was barely used in the end-of-season clashes.
As at Derby, he slipped down the pecking order the following season under Brian Little at Leicester, although his goal against Queens Park Rangers did bag City their first-ever Premiership point. However, he was loaned out to Plymouth Argyle and Mark McGhee would have sold him to the Pilgrims had they been able to afford him.
As it was, he was transfer listed on his return to the club and eventually given a free transfer. Hednesford Town signed him and he finished his career back in Leicestershire, but in the non-league with Shepshed Dynamo.
