Molson Canadian Posted 19 March 2007 Posted 19 March 2007 from: http://torontofc.theoffside.com/uncategori...andy-welsh.html Yeah, it seems that Toronto FC is soon going to dethrone Manchester United as most beloved club amongst Englishmen. Undeniable truth: Sunderland (on loan to Leicester City) winger Andy Welsh is on trial for the good guys, Welsh would count as a youth international due to his tender age of one score and three years of age. Mo Johnston stated that the trial was “quite impressive†so far. I mean, of course TFC has a bunch of forwards, but they also have a bunch of injuries, and with Abbe Ibrahim apparently having immigration troubles, we can always use a decent English striker, as far as I’m concerned. Welsh has scored seven goals in the Championship, since joining Stockport County in 2001. Hours away from Toronto announcing its first roster, it’s something to ponder upon. the person who wrote this article has no idea what they are talking about but yes it is true i have just learned he has earned a contract and has been signed by toronto fc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Welsh
lookwhaticando Posted 19 March 2007 Posted 19 March 2007 They've obviously not too keen on making football big in Toronto, then... I thought Andy Welsh was more... you know... an Ottawa FC kinda player.
Molson Canadian Posted 19 March 2007 Author Posted 19 March 2007 i think he has been signed as a backup player i dont see him in the starting 11
Alexikokopops Posted 19 March 2007 Posted 19 March 2007 Am I the only one that didn't understand that article?
The Reverend Posted 20 March 2007 Posted 20 March 2007 i think he has been signed as a backup player i dont see him in the starting 11 Backup? I doubt it. Hes pretty much a proven Championship player therefore hes probably better than anything that Toronto have got now.
MC Prussian Posted 20 March 2007 Posted 20 March 2007 Haha... Andy Welsh Superstar!!! In all honesty, good luck to him in T'rohno.

lookwhaticando Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 He started in the first Toronto FC competitive match against Chivas USA. Toronto lost 2-0, and Andy Welsh only played the first 65 minutes (probably still as unfit as he was when he came to us).

lookwhaticando Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Who replaced him for the second 65 minutes? I'm not going to dignify that with an answer.
MC Prussian Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 I'm not going to dignify that with an answer. Of course, you won't.
