Let's be honest in purely defensive terms Huth is by far the best defender at the club. Not the best footballing defender but he's tough, uncomprimising and sometimes exactly what we have been missing.
Agree with this.

If we want to improve as a side, Simpson and Wes are two spots that need upgrading.
Wes has been a top player for us. But we need to replace. Though for me, as an out an out defender he is better the Maguire, but not as an all round footballer

All of those except Le Tissier played for big clubs who controlled possession and tempo of games. We don't do that. We will get the run around by Man City next game. Iborra is obviously a very good player and I agree pace is an overrated attribute by itself but it's nice to hsve some.
I thought he wasn't the quickest too. But maybe more mobile than I thought. As in the counter attack last week with gray vardy and mahrez. He was other player in the box with vardy.

I think that quite a few people thought he was a bit lightweight in that season but it's hard to argue that he hasn't improved as his career progressed it's just that him and Everton look like a match made in hell
Yeah. Has developed well. Harsh to judge him currently, as the whole team is not performing

I think I was one of the few that thought Keane was awful when he played for us.
-
My gut says no. However if you look back through his games in charge. We haven't lost to anyone where we wouldn't have expected too.
Maybe that is where the problem lies, we should expect to lose.

We don't play to his strengths. Cross the ball in the box more and I'm sure he would score a lot more and be very useful to us.
I have no doubts that he went to a west brom type side he'd get 15 goals +.

Nacho looked a class above. And a natural goalscorer.
Iborra looks slow and ponderous - hopefully it's just that he's not fit.
Funny I though he looks calm and composed.

He'll be under pressure if we lose next weekend

He was excellent for Wales last night!

Stupid thing about picking on Simpson, is he was one of the few that was closer to playing how he did in the title winning season.

Before he left, Amartey was starting to show sign of coming to terms with the league and was one of out better performers. He was made a bit of a scapegoat earlier in the season.
Has all the attributes physically to be a Centre back. The only one that worries me is concentration.

All the BBC pundits have gone for us to win apart from twaddle who seems to be living in a parallel universe ....
Don't forget they all said we'd be relegated too. I hope all but Waddle are correct mind you.
-
The team who deserves to win it is the one with the most points in may. That could still be Arsenal. Hope not though.
-
I work in Stoke and all the guys I've spoken to want us to win it
-
The pessimist in me agrees with Quinn, but also pundits and myself have been waiting for this bubble to burst for a long time.
We have sustained this form over 41 games let's hope we can make it 48.

Tbh as optimistic as I am going in to the run in, and I am, it's not beyond the realms of possibility we could make an absolute pigs ear of things.
Indeed. It would make it worse now if we went down.
Its the hope that kills you and all that.

There's no point putting up stats like these. I think Lee put up a set of stats a few weeks ago. Largely ignored.
People have already made up their minds who is 'class' and who is 'shite' already.
In fact, did so before the season started probably.
Would you like some fish for your other shoulder?
Sorry!

So what did he mean by " lesser" sides ? Does he not realise Man united have become a " lesser" side by their total points so far against as he put it " lesser " teams. And the fact that they have no chance of finishing anywhere near the top four ? If anyone has become a Lesser side it's them.
That was an article praising us!

If we can keep the Main 18 players of the squad fit for most of the season we will be fine. Don't really care what Pundits say, they don't really know about the team ethic that we have and the good younger players.

*shameful plug alert*
My band Tribute to Nordberg are playing at the Victoria inn in Derby this Thursday (14/11).
So if you fancy listening to some heavy yet melodic alternative rock come along!
*plug finished*

Not as good I know, but James is reminding more and more of Lennon. Breaks up play, passes a ball well and is now showing he can take set pieces. Hope he continues to improve and we have a good player on our hands.

Went to see the heat when I was in the states. Awesome experience.

He has potential and the right attributes to make a good right back. Hes only 23, arguably Simpson took until he was 29 to make it to his top level.
He needs consistent game time
