Very interesting & informative post. I live just outside Portland & was watching Timbers V RSL match on tv when the shooting took place..just a 15 minute walk from there to the ground.(no fans in attendance of course) Very depressing times indeed. I talked to a few people that were in the area before it all kicked off..they knew things would go south quickly once the Trump truckers caravan came on the scene.

It's been a long drawn out depressing season for my Timbers..It'll all be over soon.

The whole town had a party last night..amazing scenes down at the ground after the match. Wish i could've traveled to Columbus but just couldn't pull the long trip off this time.

Heading down to the Bay area for the weekend..catching Timbers v San Jose match Sunday afternoon. The new San Jose stadium has the largest outdoor bar in the country..or so i'm told.

No mate..just having a little joke at Toronto's front office ineptitude. I don't think anyone would say the football City produced in the years leading to relegation to 1st div was enthralling but the real supporters still turned out. I take MLS for what it's worth, which is a good night out with my pals & the occasional decent match.

Judging MLS by Toronto is a bit like saying the Prem is shit because QPR is such a joke. Millions thrown away for nary a playoff spot in 8 years. Great supporter amazingly enough..

What a great finish! I've played golf forever & all golfers from 20 handicappers to scratch players are whiners..the only ones that are bigger whiners are touring pros.The greens weren't great but the same for everybody..suck it up guys!

I thought the strike was on for sure. The weather forecast for season opener in Portland is 70F with no rain. It always pisses down on opening day in PDX..unbelievable!

Seeing as I'll be in Leicester for the WBrom match & away at Southampton the possibility of missing a Timbers playoff game was a real fear. I should have known better...

Haven't been able to play golf for 8 weeks due to bum knee. Three weeks past surgery & out today but forced to ride in a cart. This is my longest stretch of no golf for at least 20 years..it's been killing me!

Can't believe I almost didn't go Friday night to see the Lakers V T-Blazers game at the Rose Garden!(one of my friends has season ticks) It's sad to think how good we could have been this year if our big guys weren't out for the season. T-Blazers have a lot of heart but just won't be able to beat the big teams come play-off time..sad but true. ( I think being a city supporter has made me expect the worst. )

Just can't watch much hoop now that my Blazers are all on the injured list..still LJ is worth an occasional look-in.
