The players should face up when they've played crap (today) - maybe six players came over at the end, only a couple getting particularly close to the away end. They have it right in Europe where the players get a dressing down from the ultras in times like this.

That's the nearest we've got to a Rudkin hit piece
Interesting that Niko Kovac is named. Not sure how we decided to go for RVN over him - that would have been a big appointment

What the floppin deck ???! That cannot be right, surely. Relegation was less costly than that!!

I get why fans want a more proven manager, but what you also get with a proven manager is a catalogue of failures (unless you're a very attractive proposition) and repeat pattern behaviour of sticking with the same principles that got them the sack before.
But going for a manager with minimal 1st team managerial experience is a punt that you're relying on high reward from high risk. The rewards though can be massive and as fans it's unlikely we truly know whether such a manager is destined to do so, where as a robust recruitment process from an effective sporting director and board should be able to tap in to that.
There's plenty of examples either way of such appointments that go astonishingly well and utterly wrong but I see precious little evidence of better success rate going for the types of proven manager we could attract.
Yeah, but there's also option C:
- Proven manager but unproven in English football - in the mold of Iraola, Hurzeler, Glasner
It's not just Moyes or RVN

Not really following the logic of appointing RVN. He's had one year at PSV, took them from 2nd to 2nd, did OK at Man Utd briefly and as of 2 weeks ago thought his level was Championship (by applying for the Coventry job).
Vs the field of Corboran, Potter, the various out of work managers across Europe (Schmidt, Kovac etc.) I can't work it out - unless he has shown some other managerial talents - tactics, man management?

The Spanish press, of course, are known for having their finger on the pulse when it comes to intra English club transfers...

Similar to the Ayew deal, it's fine enough as a squad addition, he's certainly a much better back up GK than we have.
But again similar to the Ayew deal IF the numbers are true, then you have to wonder what on earth we are doing that's up to 18m for a 33 and 31 year old who are essentially back ups and don't improve us in any way.
For a team that is in trouble for serious PSR breaches who had to conduct an internal review to understand how the most expensive premier league team in history got relegated, to sink that kind of money into these kind of players is quite frankly beyond irresponsible.
Hopefully it's not true, but we've over paid for every single player so far and outside of Okoli, I don't believe any of these are Glover scouted targets.
Still time for Top to sack the board to give us the best chance of promotion next season. If not, bottom half Championship life beckons until he sells the club.
Spoiler alert: he won't

At what point do the authorities get involved for our transfer fees being off?
£25m for Spurs bench player Skipp
£5m for reserve player Golding
£5/8m for Ayew (almost 33, <1 year left on deal, taking a big wage off CPFC, should be a nominal fee)
and now potentially £10m for a relegated keeper, 4x up on 12 months ago, when we have many first team goalies.
Something is off

What? Is LCFC just a front for agents to move money around now? This is ridiculous

I don't see the fans demanding change.
Only some here on Foxestalk that makes up a very small % of the fanbase that actually attend matches.
I think the vast majority will be oblivious to anything going on behind the scenes at the club.
Fans demanding change suggests thousands upon thousands protesting and I don't see any of that.

The success of a football club is almost entirely about identifying quality players and appointing a good manager.
We've predominantly signed shockers over the last 8 years and, with hindsight, the fees and wages look awful. Nobody complains or gives credit for Mads, Fofana, Maddison, Maguire etc.
Once the players are identified Rudkin and Whelan are tasked with getting the deal done and end up carrying the can for poor scouting.
The saddest part for me is the division this has caused among supporters, I know the personal insults of those that dissent are a sign of the times but surely there's a more respectful debate to be had.
And who is responsible for appointing the scouts? It's Rudkin. He's responsible for the football side of the club. And it's seriously failed over the last few years. So, the fans demand change.

Do UFS still have that Rudkin Out banner knocking about from Swansea away, if so, it needs to make a return
