Just as a heads-up, Fulham have made a point of putting this on their website.

*Subject to postcode restrictions - Fulham FC will be monitoring bookings and any tickets purchased by supporters who live in the vicinity of Leicester (and local areas) who do not have a previous booking history with us, will be terminated.

It looks like you need to buy a Fulham membership (£50) to buy a ticket anyway, I think?

Not quite what you describe. But he is the boss of the people that are implementing those ideas, I’m not sure quite how hands on he is with those aspects but it doesn’t sound like he overly interferes on the playing side nor is he responsible for scouting.

He is however, in charge of contracts, sales (negotiation and decisions on who gets let go) and final say on the purchasing and negotiations.

I’d imagine you have glover meeting with the manager, who gives him his requirements and needs. Glover produces a list of players. The manager probably selects out of the options and then rudkin comes into play to get that player to sign. I’m sure he steps in if certain targets are better value etc.

The buck doesn’t just stop with him if course, the commercial side of the business is the worst it’s ever been. That might be due to making up for the failures on the transfer side of things but that falls on susan wheelan and any merit she had in the bank has got to be gone. I think the actions to raise more money are just pushing more people away and i know so many fans are now adamant about eating outside the ground and not giving the club an extra penny. if the kits had been nice this year… i’d still be not purchasing because it’s not on my family to recover the money these clowns have lost

Do we know who is deciding the style of football LCFC should play? If the answer is Cooper, that's a failing. Every well run club has style of play established before hiring the manager. So it can be stable across multiple managers (with a manager's lifespan being quite short).

Copied from another thread, but interesting to see. Our Wages and Squad Value compared to other teams in the league:

This won't be up to date yet with more signings coming in, but this is quite a big change for us from a few seasons ago when we had the 7th highest wages.

And of course, despite being a good indicator, there is one team that has the unusual record of both over-performing AND under-performing their expected finish based on wages. That team of course being Leicester City who finished 1st and 18th respectively.

Here's our Squad Value, though this one is much harder to gauge:

As it stands, it's got relegation written all over it

Wage data at a player level isn't worth the paper it's written on

  4. Client journalism

It only touches the surface on anything negative.

And is there anything new in that article? A lot of mindless filler on the recent history of LCFC, which most readers would already know, and some hand waving vagueness on criticisms, with lots of caveats thrown in. I did learn where he went to school, so that's something.

  5. Nelson was picked again of Coady at times last season - he looks promising. And surely this is the season Braybrooke/Alves breakthrough after nasty injuries.

I think our academy has done pretty well over, say, the last 5 years vs similar level clubs - we've had a fair few first-team regulars and Chilwell, Barnes, KDH were all sold for good money.

The club should be laser focused on getting academy kids in the first team IMO. Our main differentiating factor vs similar clubs is our top notch training ground and massive catchment area. We should exploit that as much as we can.

I'm genuinely interested how many DoF actually engage with fans.

Not a dig at you, it's just never been an issue of mine as I don't feel it's somebody we need to hear.

A little like when Top wrote a message to the fans, I feel anything they said would be dismissed by most anyway.

A quick google gives, in no particular order:

    Everton - Kevin Thelwell

Norwich - Ben Knapper - Norwich previously had Stuart Webber, who was never off the TV (probably went too far tbh)

Brighton - Dan Ashworth on prime time TV (now moved on to Newcastle)

    Spurs - Johan Lange

    Wolves - Matt Hobbs

Brentford - Phil Giles - gives an interview after every window

West Ham - Tim Steidten (albeit a joint interview with new manager)

    Aston Villa - Monchi

Fulham - Tony Khan interview with fan podcast (can you see Rudkin going on BSLB?)

    Arsenal - Edu

Brighton - David Weir on a 40 min club podcast on new manager - forty minutes!

Meanwhile...if you google "Jon Rudkin interview Leicester", the first interview is a reaction to an FA Youth Cup quarter final win from nine years ago.

No interviews for 10 years is fine when we are doing well but he's been in charge for the worst relegation in Premier League history - people are right to question him. A bit of info on the general plan from the man running the club day-to-day would be a good step to rebuilding the relationship with the fans.

    Sidenote:

Not a DoF, but one of the best football club comms imo is the Plymouth Chairman, who does regular interviews:

E.g. Launching a five year plan with actual detail about how they were planning to run the club - can you imagine?

A 20 min interview upon latest managerial appointment, going into great detail on the recruitment process

People want a competitive club but then to be sponsored by tree hugging companies who couldn’t pay us enough, it’s not even a bad sponsor there’s way way worse

This is a club that loses £50m+ on the regular. An extra £2m from cryptoscam.org vs. a regular sponsor won't make a difference. It's the 3rd GK wages for a year.

No material difference to club finances

But we know all the club has sold itself out. Just another chip away at the soul of the club.

  8. Selling our homegrown midfield engine for some no mark Brighton player. Honestly, what's the point? What message does that send to everyone connected with the club? We're finished.
