He mentioned three roles: Sporting Director, Commercial Director and CEO.
He did claiming that a commercial director is close. Problem is this is all backwards. You appoint a CEO who then appoints those below them based on working as a team. The interview appears to suggest that Jon will be the ultimate authority which I hope is not the case. One of the problems Leicester has is that it is already over staffed it’s not more people we need it’s better people.

Let’s get real folks the answer has to be no simply because he is unlikely up to it. Going back rarely if ever works. We need to be moving forward not dreaming of past successes. Many romanticise over his period in charge which was a different age football has moved on and so should we.

It's very easy to criticise RL and the presenters but they have a really hard job balancing what they want to say/ask vs what they can. I don't envy them. Sometimes that balance doesn't quit feel right, or reflect the emotion of the fan base.
I think RL coverage is pretty good. Remember, it's not a fan channel where you can rant and rave and say, to an extent what you want. It's not pretending it's something it isn't. I think the presenters and commentary team do a decent enough job at it, and I don't enjoy reading the snide attacks targeted them from keyboard warriors who can barely string a sentence in public.
It is supposed to be a journalistic arm for the community not a mouthpiece. The interview is staged no hard hitting questions, no challenging scenarios. Where was the you chose 4 bad managers in 18 months question?

Thanks. That seems a really low number which needs seriously bumping up if the Trust are able to put real pressure on the club.
583 I believe was the number with 170 new members last year but offset by a much higher number of non renewals meaning the total membership dropped in 2025. Two bumps around the survey and the reform campaign. Yes it is low compared to a number of other trusts. However not all trusts are alike for instance some are more active with social events etc that drives engagement. The message of hope out of last night is new energy and new people either new ideas. I believe that the low number of members does allow the club to see the trust as inconsequential.

I thought the co-chair handled this well. The trust rules do prohibit a criminal record but nothing related to a club imposed ban. This does make sense as the club has recently been over sensitive to criticism and does not share the number of or reasons for a ban. I often wonder if my own criticism of the club on occasion places me close to falling over the edge into an abyss. But with the dross we are served right now maybe a ban would be good for my mental health. For now I have hope for the new members let’s judge them on performance.

Listened to about 5 mins, the more he opens his mouth the clearer it becomes that he doesn't seem to understand or appreciate there's issues. If he doesn't understand the problems then they'll never be fixed.
Have to agree it’s another PR gaff. Just waffle, no substance, nothing to cling to as hope going forward. I understand he is not a football person, I understand English is not his first language why then not appoint a spokesperson who can communicate for him. Why was he not asked about points deduction and possible relegation as a scenario? Poor journalism.

The first thing we need rid of is these laptop coaches who peer at the laptops and run down to tell the manager what the numbers show them. Back and across passing does not count. Even Arsenal got caught on it yesterday.. it has had its day.

We need a new team, coaches as well as a manager. Kingy isnt the right person at the right time iMO.
This is spot on we have become an easy ride club too many average people in position too long. I would love King to be successful but I don’t see him as the hard leader we need. I think there will be a bounce as the players see one of their ‘clique’ in charge but cannot see it being sustained. Love to be proved wrong.

Season tickets are not transferable. Availability this coming summer will depend on many factors. Best scenario is we are in the championship and renewal rates stay at similar to last summer which means around 3000 will be available to new applicants. If relegated it may be higher. I seriously doubt that in either scenario you will not be successful.

I lived in Thailand for 2.5 years, one thing that everyone needs to understand is that in Thai culture you never, ever lose face.
nobody ever accepts fault for anything. Important people never get blamed for anything. Everything about that culture is showing itself for us and has been for years
Well put I have supervised operations in Thailand and it impossible to get makes to behave to western expectations, the culture puts many items such as accountability off limits. For some positions we just had to retain expatriates. He will never be open as a western leader might be. It shows in the make up of the board he needs to a{point and listen to some non-executive directors. The clubs governance is all wrong.

Heard he was in Revs last night absolutely hammered, and was slagging off Marti to a few fans saying he’s the worst manager we’ve had and he hopes he gets sacked.
It would explain a lot.about his performance.

I’d say he’s pretty qualified, more so than the person running our football club into the ground.
Yes he is an academic never put his neck on the line to build or run a business. Those who can do those who cannot teach. It’s the same with financial advisors if they are so good why are they giving viewpoints on investing your money when they should be making so much they should not be interested in your money.. with no access to inside data he is just guessing like the rest of us.
-
Ask him have you ever invested in a football club, have you ever owned a football club, have you ever been the CEO of a football , does he have access true review of financial details not covered in the annual accounts, does he follow Swiss Ramble, if the answer is no then what makes him more of an expert than anyone else who can read?

Winks has no intention of doing anything till June when he will be a free agent. Will sit and collect the money. A club enquirerd but his agent is not talking unless it is more than Leicester pay now.

A decision needs to be made asap regarding Winks. The team is now short of players at 8 9 10 along with full backs.Winks when on his game provides fluency decent passing and a bit of control in midfield. I don’t know how big the barriers have become to return but you can add another central midfielder to the list if there is no way back. The chances of the club delivering on all these gaps seem to be close to zero.
It has been stated he is a disruptive influence. The one thing Cifuentes has done right is exile him. No way back exit only the sooner the better but unlikely as no one wants a toxic employee. Skipp has been a revelation since winks has been sidelined. Most likely scenario he sits collecting the money till his contract runs out.

such a lazy team, why are we timewasting when 1-0 down with 5 to go?
Spot on 86th minute 1-0 down Ayew messing around, no urgency, no ideas they are all crap. Play the kids against Oxford no Ayew, Cordova Reid, Choudray, Madvadidi, Fatawu, Periera, Daka, to hell with them all. Rather see us hammered with hope than this lot.

Wait a minute why is it all on him the goals other is allowed to run free because Cordova Reid is too lazy to cover. Yes keeper could do better but players totally unmarked is not his fault. Weak challenge on Moore. Ricardo running like a donkey.

Outside the main entrance would be a great place to protest before and after the game whilst the board etc start arriving for the game !!
Only problem with this is that none of the board attend games anymore.

Of course it’s subjective as to if there’s a delay but under the PL accelerated process there are timelines/ expectations. For instance the requirements are that even any appeal is to be dealt with meaning from charge to settlement of appeal is to be dealt with in circa 20 weeks. We are now closer to 35 weeks since charges laid.
The question of jurisdiction re 23/24 has been settled at binding arbitration . I don’t believe that the IC are in a position to revisit that ruling so save the question re non submission on time of accounts not sure that that the ability of the PL to brings charges will stand up to any challenge.
The limitation act is of course factored in PL disciplinary matters but the fact that the case is in train mitigates any concerns re timing. Not sure how there is any way other way in which this type of case can be dealt namely retrospectively but even if this matter went to appeal and or possibly arbitration it almost certainly will be settled in another 35 weeks after the IC announcement ( guesstimate) this matter will not / cannot go further
Once an IC is set up they very much become independent Counsel will of course be discussing matters with the PLs in house teams but just like the city case the PL won’t post the hearing have any involvement till the commission reports.
On that City commission their task is far far more complex if for no other reasons than there are 115+ charges each having to be explored both at commission and explained and ruled on in their orc publication.
LCFC charge will of course revolve mainly around the 23/24 numbers ( I don’t believe jurisdiction will be up for debate) then a very simple question of was they a requirement to submit accounts to the PL as per the PL rules and the third charge re failure to co operate normally would be discussed once a charge had been proven.
You are correct one of the challenges is that since charges and hearings did not meet agreed timelines can an IC even rule on this. Jurisdiction and binding arbitration is another grey area as with promotion/relegation who was part of and covered by said arbitration. If these were all black and white a ruling likely would have come down by now. All commissions are struggling with badly written rules, arguments on grammar and missing punctuation, times when items were listed, incomplete minutes of agreements the list goes on. So supporters wait long times.

We were charged by the PL and our case was reviewed by an independent panel. Neither the EFL nor ourselves will have much say in when the announcement is made. The most likely reasons for the delay are: 1) our case is not being fast-tracked because we’re not currently in the PL; 2) we likely haven’t admitted the charges but have strongly contested them, making our case more complicated than some previous ones; and 3) because ours will be the first ‘cross-jurisdiction’ case (ie, we were charged by the PL under EFL rules) and will therefore set a precedent for future cases, the panel will need to make its judgement as detailed and legally watertight as possible, which is adding time to the proceas.
Your point 1 does not apply since the case has been heard and is under review. Your point 2 is spot on yes we have not admitted guilt and once again are contesting badly constructed rules and language. Point 3 lies alongside point 2 and the dat at which these can be applied is critical. In law retrospective application is frowned upon so yes the commission will be trading very carefully to avoid a longer legal challenge. I think fans don’t understand the size of the workload facing the commissions. We are one of numerous cases led by the monster that is Man City look at the time that has been going on and it is clear that evidence and rule review is not clear. Timing linked to other events is nonsense the commission will rule when it does. Neither party has much say in that.

These days it’s not just about protecting access but the reality that there are very few ‘journalists’ left. Most of the current industry are gossip mongers and internet troll readers. A true journalist investigates and to hell with access consequences. Whether it be Radio Leicester or the Mercury we have no journalistic work going on. Hence the ‘party’ line. It is symptomatic of the world good hard working journalism has died.

The reason so many clubs went into administration in 2002 was the collapse of ITV digital. They couldn’t pay the football league what they owed, as they had terrible subscription numbers, leading to them losing up to £1m per day by the time they collapsed. They went into liquidation with debts of over £1b. That is eye watering in reality.
When you consider it was reported that they’d effectively paid £1.2m for coverage of Bradford Vs Forest in the “Championship” and only 1,000 people watched. You can see why the business failed. Sky wouldn’t do a deal with ITV Digital to show the matches either, as I guess, longer term, they knew they’d get a better deal with the football league on matches once they’d gone.
Unfortunately as clubs had budgeted for a slice of this income (as every club does now with Sky), then this lead to so many clubs entering administration du to complications from ITV Digital. We were just the biggest club impacted, as we were at the top of the football league at the time.
Bradford, Halifax, Barnsley, Notts County, Port Vale, Ipswich, York and ourselves were all hit and went into admin with 12 months. Others tried to limp on an maybe paid a greater price in all honesty by not going into administration sooner.
However, consider this, Sky now has dwindling customer numbers as it tries to compete with Netflix, Apple and Amazon amongst others. If they were to fall, then football in Britain would be really ruined if those other streaming platforms gave Sky, the same treatment it gave ITV Digital, as they’re reliant on its income.
If Sky couldn’t pay us our money, King Power would either have to either cover the loan, or place us back into administration.
Very true but with one caveat. If the TV money failed then both the EPL and EFL would be forced to close PSR and look to allow deep pocket owners unrestricted ability to invest and cover the shortfall. The reality is that Sky are unlikely to fail but the next TV contract may see lot lower revenues. The people who will feel the immediate pinch are players. Mass layoffs to smaller squads, large reductions in salaries and payments and that’s what the PFA knows is likely. For Leicester the question is would Top step up? Despite everyone’s doom I believe he has the resources but would he want to. I suspect while his mother is alive and well he will once she is out of the picture I think the answer will be no.
