3-0 up in the 7 minutes Perez was on the pitch...hope that’s not as bad as it looks
-
Finished 3-0, lovely goal from Caroline Weir to wrap it up

2-0 now.
Where would we sit in this league? We gave Man City a run for their money earlier on, beat reading and we’re arguably a stronger team than last season.
I’d like to think that 6th-10th range...The top 4 are all well clear with Everton not far behind then you’ve got a Reading side that are rebuilding but are very solid and an inconsistent but promising Brighton, Spurs are hard to get a read of but don’t seem anything special, Birmingham hiring Carla Ward in the Summer is the only thing that’s kept them out of the relegation zone and if she goes the club are in a mess, Villa will probably improve with a years experience, West Ham are only going one way and lastly Bristol City look much better than last place since Matt Beard took over but are still probably a couple players short of doing anything

Man City 1-0 up at half time, would half open the door for Arsenal to get back in the race for the 3rd Champions League place if they didn’t look so void of ideas lately
-
No need to worry lads, we’ve got one replacement lined up at least

The Woman’s Football thread was deleted then? I was rather enjoying it. I found it educational.
Yeah I guess it has been, I’ve just started a thread in the General Football & Sport forum, see if there’s any interest there 👍

I guess for anyone that wants to discuss the game or ask genuine questions about it this might be the place

Manchester City play Manchester United tomorrow night at 7pm on BT Sport, both sides still in the title hunt with Chelsea
Then there’s 5 games from across the WSL/Championship on the FA Player service on Sunday including Leicester away to Durham at 12pm
-
Sunday’s game will also now be live on FA Player

Wasn't Belvoir Drive a gift? How much more money do they get from promotion? It can't be as big as is it in the men's league. Who's bank rolling us?
Yes, it’s still an investment to give it to the women’s team rather than flog it to a developer though.
Top/King Power are bank rolling us just like the men’s team, before their takeover last summer it was just the Morgan family and you get basically nothing just for promotion, before Barclays became sponsors of the WSL you didn’t get much for winning that! The new TV money combined with Barclays sponsorship means that will start going up pretty quickly though.

How have we invested heavily?
So far, turning fully pro, signing established WSL players like Remi Allen, Sophie Howard & Kirstie Levell, the best Championship players in Natasha Flint, Sam Tierney and Sophie Barker as well as a load of good young players too, the plan is to continue that on promotion should we get it
An investment off the pitch would be the move to Belvoir Drive.

Thanks. Will we stay up if we get promoted?
We’d invest fairly heavily I’d say so I’d fancy our chances to establish ourselves, if they don’t drop this season then West Ham would be favourites to go down imo

WSL’s Red Button/BBC Online games are expected to move to BBC One/Two next season with the new tv rights deal (Sky mooted to get the pay TV games from BT) so you won’t even have to go to the Beebs website to see em

I don't think there is a "men's game" if a woman was good enough she could play in the Premier League. Hence women's football is second rate like almost every other sport women only compete against each other in.
I mean there are literally rules preventing mixed gendered teams after a certain age

Just going to take this opportunity to advertise our own Women’s team’s game this Sunday against Durham.
1st (us) vs. 2nd, only goal difference to separate us, only top gets promoted to the WSL.
12pm Kick Off and it’s live and free here

Daley-Campbell probably our main bright spark (solid, calm) until the last two touches of the ball that we had
Great to get through, fingers crossed for JJ

It’s a good job Daley-Campbell looks alright, we might need him when it counts the way this season is going for our full backs
-
Decent start for Daley Campbell
