A different approach…

Kristiansen has to be one of the worst players to put on a Leicester shirt. Seriously don’t understand what some of you see in him. Effort, yes. Zero technical ability. It’s like playing with a man down.

This line up may look odd, but we’ve lost 7 on the bounce, something needs to change. I’d go for both a change in formation and personnel. Jakub Woyo Coady Vestegaard Faes Justin (yes, on the left, like 23/24) Hamza Winks Facundo BEK Vardy Let’s be honest, any combination of our wingers is not working, so just don’t play them. Woyo pushing up and Justin dropping into LB as needed, like we did 23/24 but with the protection of a back 3. Hamza is controversial, I just feel we need a ball winner in there, Soumare and Skipp just aren’t doing that role there.

On paper, the substitution was the right one. We know Tielemans tires and isn’t the best player for seeing a game out (see Spurs game) and you couldn’t take off the energy of KDH. You see Dawson up there and you bring on the only CB you have on the bench, your tallest player and before the summer, a player with decent Ariel duels stats. However, knowing the form Vestegaard has been in, Choudary/Mendy would have been my choice.

Could see Castagne added to the group of returning players for this? Whats the earliest the AFCON players are back?

I just have a funny feeling he’s going to play VDC at right back instead of Albrighton.

Team I’d play, assuming returning players are fit and tactically given an extended break at the weekend in preparation for this big game: Ward Ricardo Amartey Vestegaard Bertrand Ndidi Youri Albrighton Maddison Barnes Vardy Complete overhaul in defence, including keeper, needs be done. Not a fan of Vestegaard but…he’s big? And might be able to defend a corner, maybe…. 3/6 changes for rest of outfield players, strongest midfield 3, and maybe Marc can provide some solution to our RW issue.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned here, but anyone else think it was a terrible penalty by Nacho? Not down the middle, not to the side and a perfect height for a keeper to save - I think he got away with that one!

Did he get the assist for the goal? Incredible to think he is currently keeping Ricardo out the team. The Ricardo linked with PSG etc. And regarded as one of the best FB in Premier league last season.

Absolute balls by BR to throw him on, having not played in 6 months. It worked (only just!) and how fitting for him to play one of his last games in the FA Cup final.

Does Ihaenacho have the worst first touch in world football?

I’ve noted a few people praising Perez’s game today. I just don’t get it. Watch that game back. First half he lost the ball or didn’t make the best use of an opportunity at least 3 times. Even the commentator touched on the lack of quality here. It’s moments like that which can make or break a game. 2nd half was much better but I still feel overall in the higher reaches of this premier league you need the very best of players who make the most of every opportunity. Maddison needs to come straight back in IMO

They were all fantastic but if I had to be picky I thought “Thomas” Castagne is still looking a little rusty. Gave the ball away a good few times especially in the first half. Youri just dictates play so well. We’ve said it before but he seems to be a better player without Maddison playing. Albrighton defies logic and continues to be the exact same player from 15/16 season.

Whats happened to Layton Ndukwu? 22 now, used to score a few for youth/U23 team, still at the club and not out on loan but never see him in U23s, is he injured? I have a bad feeling him and Muskwe are heading in the same direction as Ricky Sappleton, Eric Odhiambo...etc.

Looked good, not a MOTM performance but nobody really stood out tbh. Was surprised how knackered he was last 30 mins. When did he last play? I thought the youngsters are fitter? Gave the ball away towards the end which could have been a goal scoring opportunity. Definitely a player in there though. A (normal) season loan could do wonders for his progression.
