  1. This one man is the perfect example for showing fickleness in football. Personally, I'd drop him now because we all know he's going to get slaughtered on this forum after the next game. On a serious note, Porto are a very competent possession based team who DIDN'T overrun our two man midfield. I genuinely think a lot of this formation talk is pointless. I think it's the individual player instructions that make the real difference. A two-man midfield, minus Okazaki at CAM leaves us very light and yet that didn't seem to matter at all. As soon as you put an extra man in midfield, you're leaving a striker without a partner or, even worse, taking away the energy and width from the wingers.
  2. It was a brilliant goal! Overhead kick from just outside the 6-yard box, very Okazaki-like! Video isn't great but it was a pretty good finish from the big man.
  3. Shhh, don't spoil the magic of this super Lloyd Dyer stat!
  4. They'll get promoted next season. Lloyd Dyer @ Leicester = Promotion 2014 Lloyd Dyer @ Watford = Promotion 2015 Lloyd Dyer @ Burnley = Promotion 2016 Yet he hasn't played in the Premier League in almost 12 years...
  5. I wonder whether he was expecting to walk straight into the team at the start of the year. I watched him in his first game playing for the U21s and it was like watching Anthony Knockaert crossed with Wasilewski. He played at RB and he was up and down that wing pulling off step-overs and backheels, not to mention needless kicks and flicks for the sake of it. When he eventually debuted in the first team he was far too casual. Now he seems to have realised that he needs to actually work hard to get in the team. I reckon our outstanding league position is the reason why players such as Benalouane, Inler and even Kramaric have been patient in waiting for their chance.
  6. Matt Oakley is on the bench tonight for Exeter. He has 272 Premier League appearances. Liverpool's entire starting 11 has just 297. A huge portion of that (266) are from just Jose Enrique and Christian Benteke.
  7. Everyone saying he needs to be in the U21s is certainly a bit unfair. I actually did watch him in the U21s at the start of the season and he was too good. His discipline is pretty bad, nobody can deny that, but he does offer some much needed qualities. Versatility, for example. He seems calmer on the ball than De Laet, he's strong, good in the air and prone to doing the unexpected. I'd be reluctant to coach the aggression out of him because that's who he is. Maybe he won't become a Leicester great but after only a few appearances I think we're being a bit naive in some of the criticism.
  8. There was a time when he was one of our best players. People are quick to forget that now we've moved on. He's always got my respect and let's not forget some of the absolute screamers he scored. So pleased that he's playing well!
  9. I quite enjoyed reading the Man City thread until I found this little note on the second page... "All the best to them. They first need a good manager whow knows what he wants. Mancini? SVG?"
  10. Totally agree with this. We are very similar to Southampton, just a few years behind. Both got relegated to League 1 and since then have grown in quality each year. Southampton have had 4 players in the England squad this year, they've been in the Prem for less than 2 seasons. Just imagine if Leicester could be where they are by the time we reach the 2015/16 season... What 4 England players would we have? Drinkwater, James, Moore and Vardy? Oh, can I just add that Leicester did the double over Southampton the year they got promoted
  11. Ha, well I've recently posted my first reply to a topic so I guess that makes me a proper newbie. Hello to all!
