N'Didi is just a shadow of the player he was a few years ago. I don't know whether he's still not back 100% from injury but he doesn't seem anywhere near as athletic as he was before.

Beginning of the season I was Brendan in and moved into the "happy with whatever the board does with him" camp at the lowest point. Still in that camp but it's certainly looking like he'll be sticking around for good little while longer.

I was Rodgers in until this game but seeing N'Didi and Ward arguing like that in the 1st half is not a good look into the respect the team has for the manager. Therefore, I'll agree with whatever the board does.

What's he referring to though? Hasn't got enough help to push for top 6? Definitely. Hasn't had enough to finish in the top half? Probably. I don't think he could use that as an excuse to be flirting with relegation though.

Honestly I feel like if it doesn't go through he won't throw a strop and will knuckle down to try and prove Chelsea wrong. I think he'll re-integrate back into the squad who will see it as just business, and then he'll go to PSG next year for close to 100m.

Perhaps it will make me look a fool by seasons end but I'm still not that worried. It is based on a lot of ifs and buts but I honestly feel we've been our own worse enemy so far. Even had we just held on vs Brentford, I don't think we'd be having this conversation now. Just like if we win next week and leave the bottom 3, the convo will die substantially. People are fickle. We've had a 4-game stretch including two away at two top-6 sides (where we should have come away with at least a point, collectively), should have gotten at least a point against Soton and shoulda beat Brentford. In a different year or even in a different part of the season, results would have been different. Ultimately, also still Rodgers in - unless we're still in relegation zone at Xmas. Let's see how the rest of the transfer window goes, with Fofana gone that may settle things a little and let's see who we buy. I think instead of finishing in the top 10, this start will probably mean we finish 11th or 12th instead. That's my glass half-full take.

For 1/19th of the time, Perez looks like a proper PL player. We are in a slice of that time now.
