It actually angers me how happy a day tomorrow should have been, ten years on from winning the title, yet they’ve ruined it for everyone. It should have been a day of celebration but instead it’s the final game of our worst season ever

No no no Jon Rudkin was the architect of our title win.

Russell martin is inevitable it feels. Maybe his experience getting humiliated in the prem and doing dog at rangers (trying to get a bunch of s**t kickers to do tika taka was never going to work) may have made him re-evaluate how to do things.

He is very good at working with young technical players and I wouldn't write him off. He fits a profile of what we are looking for as a manager with a point to prove. I am not convinced by challinor & skubala because they're working within a framework where everyone is alligned and focused in the same direction.

I don't think we should be losing our heads if it is martin. He's not the worst option out there.

They would have appointed him before now if they could but they now know it would only highlight their incompetence further by doing so.

The fact that there was such heightened security around the ground last week means they can't afford any more obvious slip ups.

That doesn't mean they will make the right appointment. I'd be shocked if they did but RussMart is a no go area

  3. We need Big Nige back in some capacity to try and sort things out in the short term.

Any targets a la Ranieri, Claude, Fraudgers 2016-23 are out of reach in League One ya know.

Pearson back as an advisory role would do wonders for us. Root and branch review. S+C, scouting, analytics etc could be something for him.

If they don't get it together then they'll be playing in an empty stadium next season.

This is a huge story. Look at the amount of articles about it on the BBC website (especially compared to the division champions). The amount of videos, podcasts, articles across all media. There is a lot of scrutiny on this club currently.

You've also got the YouTube videos dedicated to it and pictures of Nepo Baby to lead into it.

  5. Some may argue the loyalists are a minor problem but they are a bigger one for a club of our size.

A Liverpool one like yesterday is effective as they have such a wide global support to drown out anyone who disagrees with them.

We only have a local fanbase more or less that is bound to cause greater division in our support Base.

Even the banning orders is not going to work. The club might think they are being big and clever but they wont have anyone coming from all over the world to replace those supporters shut out.

The worst of both worlds in a way.

Anyone else becoming increasingly concerned that we are just going to redo this season in League One?

Top has basically just shrugged his shoulders and flew back home leaving Rudkin to carry on business as usual.

We all now know these people have a talent for learning zero lessons from prior failures and that leads me to believe we won't see any youth or any kind of refresh next season either.

I fear they are still rabbits in the headlight terrified of not coming straight back up (exactly as they were this season) and will for that reason only trust senior players that have played at EPL or Championship level previously just as they did this season.

The only players of that type we will have left will be those that are on wages so high we can't give them away and free transfer 30 somethings along the lines of Ayew & Bobby.

If that is the case i think the odds are 10% we fluke our way back up with another Enzo-style stroke of luck, 40% we finish mid-table, and 50% we get relegated to League Two.

'Top has basically just shrugged his shoulders and flew back home leaving Rudkin to carry on business as usual.'

Thats the problem and the block to any progress right there.

The closest comparison is Leeds, but even then the amount of money that has come through the club far surpasses what they had.

The big question is, what the **** have we done with over £500m…. I know our wages have been astronomical, but **** me…. And some people actually think Top and his current band of bellends are capable of putting the whee back on?

But we knew that at the start of the season.

At least everyone bar Rudkin knew it.  Sending us into a gunfight with a butter knife was dereliction of duty.  It was obvious and I said it at the time.

To then not even try to correct it in January is unforgivable.

And now we have to go finding at least another 2 next season.

Which would have hit us had we stayed in the championship.

I mean how could you not have complete and utter contempt for Rudkin and TopGPT?

These people support the club without actually critically thinking about the trajectory we’re on. I find it strange to be honest. Has anyone ever asked them how far they’re prepared for us to fall?

It reminds me of Ireland in 2010 as the government were acting like it was business as usual while the IMF were walking around.

And their loyalists defending them. "But they fixed the roads"
