A fact I found out on Antiques Road Trip this morning - The USA National Anthem was originally a bawdy drinking song written in the 1780s by a Gloucester Cathedral organist called John Stafford Smith. In the 19th Century, it crossed the Atlantic with the Brits and it was rewritten to what it is today.
