And more importantly, we play the (currently) second last and last: Cercle (away) and Beerschot (home). Should be at least 4/6, and ideally 6/6 to propell us up the table.
-
4/6 for Coleman, very close win today. Atrocious first half where Charleroi hit the bar twice (again, after Standard hitting the woodwork thrice last game). Better after the break, real belter of a goal by Ndri (until then by far the worst player on the pitch). Really picked up steam from that one but had one lucky moment when they got a cheap penalty, stopped by Leysen. Two minutes later of of them got a second yellow and from there on, we never got in trouble anymore.

Condolences if you watched all that But we've left out plenty of points while being the better team this year, good to see it the other way around this time. Now we need a win next week against Charleroi and hopefully, that will set us up for a bit of a series.

Was just coming in to say this. Leicester, Brighton, and at least one other English and a French club. We want between 10 and 15M (euros, obviously), and ideally he would stay until the summer. A % on future sale would also be welcome as he's very much going to be making a big move next.

This, that boy is destined for great things. Keita was good, but Banzuzi is looking even better.. And he's not even twenty yet.

Great win yesterday, controlled the game from start to finish against the league leaders from the division below us. Already saw some things that Coleman emphasized in his interviews: We tended to keep the ball for too long, playing mostly risk free. He doesn't want to abandon that completely but prefers more verticality, especially down the wings. Something which was quite clear yesterday and which resulted in a lot more chances than we usually have.

Very good point today, shame that we couldn't find the winner in the final twenty minutes when we really had them with their backs against the wall. Very important four games coming up now, all against teams right with us: Standard away (four points ahead), Charleroi home (level with us), Cercle away (one point behind us), Beerschot home (eight points behind us).

Apparently, our leading candidate was on his way to Leuven to sign but last minute decided to accept another job. Very curious if it was a certain Dutchman.

Chivas? Tactically excellent, especially when it comes to organising without the ball. Can really nullify an opposing team. Found him a bit lacking when going forward though. Biggest flaw seems to be that he's not the best man manager/motivater in the game, although that can be partially explained by the fact that he apparently really wasn't happy in Leuven.

Supposedly will be Iordanescu, assuming presentation will be tomorrow (might still need to be validated by KP).

Difficult game today but Union is still a very tough team to play against. They conceded the least amount of chances in the league, very hard to break down. Went behind after an owngoal, fifteen minutes after that were quite atrocious but then pulled ourselves back into the game. Great solo run by Ikwuemesi which resulted in a penalty, converted by Schrijvers (the man of the owngoal). Second half more even, very little chances. They went down to ten men around 75 minutes, but we still didn't manage to break them down. Some half chances but no luck and 1-1 at the whistle. Good point though, given the circumstances. Regarding Garcia's replacement: Shortlist of three candidates, no Belgian and nobody with experience in the league (so no Geraerts, no Losada). Presentation of the final choice on Wednesday according to Csepregi. Iordanescu (former manager of Romania, FSCB, Cluj) was on the longlist and would fit the profile: Good motivator, tactically sharp, good track record as well. Would very much like it to be him. Csepregi also gave a few more details about Garcia's departure. Apparently, he made it clear that he wanted to leave six weeks ago and another team was interested. They didn't come to an agreement though, but something broke at that point so it was a matter of time.

Can't say I'm surprised. Solid start to the season but 6/24 with this squad is just not enough. And his public degrading of players in the press really, really didn't help. Decision already taken ten days ago by the way, but KP only gave green light yesterday. His successor will supposedly be announced next week.
-
Very unlucky yesterday, conceded the only goal from a ridiculous deflection (second time this season) and had enough chances to equalize but it was just one of those nights. Must win game next week in Dender.
-
Good for Leysen's confidence hopefully, as he hasn't made any of these for months. Part of the reason why we were in such a bad place imo, as we conceded 16 from 11 xG against. Charlie up front could be a real game changer, surprising acceleration from someone at 1m95.
-
Tiring, no. Less interest, yes, ever since the big man passed away really. Think it's quite similar for Leicester, no?
-
0-2 FT, not deserved but we've dropped a LOT of points while being the better team so not going to mind this one really.
-
0-2 at the break, two amazing goals from Ikwuemesi, who didn't get a start from Garcia because he didn't score enough in training.
-
No three points, but a very, very good performance today. Just need a day where it goes our way a bit more to really get the ball rolling again I think. Hopefully next week in Charleroi.
-
Crisis meeting from our board since this morning apparently, because Garcia seems to have lost the squad. Something I already mentioned yesterday to a few mates, you could see it on the pitch as well.
-
An idiotic red after ten minutes to be fair, getting caught out on a long goal kick is one thing, then pulling the shirt as the last man is downright unforgivable.
-
Garcia now complaining about his strikers barely scoring in training. Someone may need to point out that his current starting eleven are barely scoring in games, and have conceded on average two goals per game in the last three. Gifted three goals to Gent yesterday from 0,58 xG for crying out loud.
-
Heavy 3-0 loss in Gent, 0,5 xG for both teams. We keep struggling to find the back of the net and we keep gifting idiotic goals to the opposition. And as much as I like Oscar Garcia, the fact that he flat out refuses to play a striker up front is starting to really get on my nerves.
-
Summary made by a Kortrijk fan it seems. We had at least three other good opportunities in the first half, none shown.
-
Difficult to say. I think they need time to adapt, and from what I've heard especially Biron isn't the fastest at picking up the tactical stuff. Ikwuemesi will probably get his chance sooner or later, the main question is who Garcia would need to take off. Maertens (originally an attacking midfielder) is currently playing up front but is captain and probably our best player so it can't be him. Could take off Maziz but that would remove all creativity from central midfield.
-
And again two points dropped while having by far the better chances.. Went behind after a foul wasn't given, from a deflected shot, but equalized almost instantly. We just can't finish the chances really, and we now have a very difficult five games coming up.
