No bid needed for that. OHL fan here who recently visited an open fan meeting with members of the technical staff and the board, where the flow of the takeover process was explained. Interested parties will be required to sign an NDA, and will after that gain access to an online data room where all of the club details are uploaded to. Including the financial details.

Fontanarosa was brought in for the left side of the tree man defense, which will hopefully solve the mess like the loss of possession leading up to the penalty. Playing a right footer there has been one of our biggest issues this season. Ideally, we play a backline of Lawrence-Nyakossi-Fontanarosa in a week or two. Not too unhappy with the transfer window. Mirisola will be a clear improvement up front, Vroman was very, very good for Lierse in second division last season so would be a worthy follow up for Leysen and Fontanarosa as said was the much needed left footer for the back three. Despite the results, no major concerns so far as we played four teams from the top six this season and had our share of bad luck as well. Never completely outplayed in any of those four games. Crucial three games now away at Beveren and then at home against Cercle and La Louviere. Unsure about Lakomy, might be a mentality thing. He did play midweek as Schrijvers was suspended.

For what it's worth, the deadline is genuine. But as stated above, it's not the first time KP opens up a window for potential takeover bids, and the deadline on those occasions was similar. So it doesn't imply that there is genuine interest to take over both clubs.
-
They definitely will even without bids. The deadline is there because a mid or late season bid would have too big an impact on the transfer windows. For what it's worth, it's not the first time they do this, and the deadline on other occasions was exactly the same one.
-
True, but in our case there might be merit to it. Csepregi manages to consistently sell even redundant players for profit.
-
For what it's worth, all goalkeepers make mistakes. If no mistake is the bar, Leysen is arguably overrated as well.
-
Because if they sell Epolo, it'll be for 10M+. Or at least that's the rationale. Burnley was indeed a better option, but it was one of the very few he has. There is little to no interest for him, apparently.

To be fair, we played a lot of teams that are, on paper, better than us (Olympiacos, Lille, Heerenveen) and did remarkably well against them (drew the first, lost 3-6 against Lille, drew 4-4 with Heerenveen after 90 minutes). We completely demolished newly promoted Lommel 5-1, beat Lierse 1-0 in a game that apparently should have been fix or six as well,... So against teams that are just as good or slightly weaker, we do a lot better. Either way, it's way too early to draw conclusions but if we play like we did against Charleroi and Club in the next games, the points will follow. In regards to transfers, we're still on the lookout for a left footed central defender. Pelotas is technically correct that there is no transfer budget unless we sell more players. Nyakossi is the most likely one to go, Leysen fails to attract much interest (despite making it clear that he wants to leave since January, seems to have overestimated himself a little), and Ikwuemesi is also still on the transfer list. The latter was not present for training yesterday, by the way. So who knows, might be happening after all? For Leysen, Standard might be an option but only if Epolo leaves.
-
Gotta keep in mind that we were playing a team that is just way beyond all other teams except Union (maybe) in terms of absolute quality. You can compare it to PSG playing a lower half side in the Ligue 1, you need absolutely everything to go for you if you even want to stand a chance of grabbing a result.
-
Slight correction, Lawrence was suffering from a small injury and not on the bench. Was training individually yesterday so should be back against Standard.
-
Slight correction (as it was me): Boehly has had talks with KP in the past regarding a potential takeover of Leicester and OHL. Not sure whether him and Walter meaning to sell their stake in Chelsea means anything, but it's an odd coincidence at least.
-
xG of 1.64 against 2.94. Soundly beaten, yes. Five or six, no. And should have scored at least one ourselves. But you need to watch the full game to get a better feel for that. This is also against a club that is leagues ahead of the rest of the Belgian competition.
-
Deserved loss against what is starting to look like the Bayern of the Belgian first division, but the 0-3 was very much overstated. Still lots of positives to take away from this game, but we need a bit of luck to grab that first win. On an unrelated sidenote, but quite relevant for your LCFC fellas as well, there may be some potential smoke in regards to the takeover rumours. Got it from a reliable source that there have been talks with potential investors at least thrice over the past years, and one of them was Todd Boehly. The same Todd Boehly who is now suddenly looking to offload his stake in Chelsea. Not going to say that there is something there, but it's quite a coincidence.

Been a problem in footie for ages unfortunately, with the player doing to provocation consistently getting less punishment than the player reacting. Wasn't the only time we were effed over by the way. We conceded a very soft penalty (thanks VAR), and then didn't get a penalty for a heavier offence in their box, where the guy from the red card situation would have been sent off with a second yellow.

No, more of an apathic stance towards KP in general. As for me personally, they saved us from bankrupcy in 2017, kept us afloat for ten years despite the losses and propelled us to a stable first division team for the first time in our history. Was it all perfect? definitely not. But it could have been far, far worse. Then again, we're not led by Rudkin but have our own independent management, which changed in 2024 and we've been on the right track since then. Cleaning up financially, will probably be in the green for the first time ever soon (maybe even last year already, but gotta wait for the annual report) without any real regression in the league.

The involvement of an intermediary also isn't new, so it's really not more formal than it was before.
-
That has been the case in the past as well. Only difference was that it didn't leak.
-
Leuven fan here. Checked with some people who know more about this stuff than me this evening and this is not 'news'. KP has been actively open to selling both clubs for years, it's just the first time that someone from the intermediaries involved leaked it.
-
Sorry, only saw this now. For what it's worth, it's not 'news' as KP has been actively open to selling both clubs for several years now. It's just the first time that it's been leaked.

It's definitely not perfect yet, but on the other hand Heerenveen also beat Club Brugge earlier in preseason and Lille is just a few leagues ahead of us in terms of quality. And it's preseason, Simons has already said that we won't be this all over the place once the league begins and that we'll choose our moments better. That said, I'd rather lose 3-6 to Lille in a game where I know a lot of the players are still deep in the red from preseason than losing 0-2 to Lens like we did two years ago and where we just turtled up. It's not surprising that we lost both the Heerenveen and the Lille game in the last 20 minutes, as both were played at a point where fatigue was a real issue. Heerenveen came off the back of a heavy 5-day training camp and we played another friendly three days before the Lille game. Supposedly, yes, but I'm honestly glad that we stay away from that type of player.
-
I take back what I said, it's apparently very much so that we're also in the shopping window. Which explains why we're apparently not allowed to spend on transfers even if we sell another 15-20M worth of players. Gotta be as attractive as possible for new ownership presumably.
-
I already said we had issues, I don't want to make matters worse.
-
Lost 3-6 to Lille in our final outing. Stayed in the game for 70 minutes but then conceded 3-4 and 3-5 in quick succession and that was it. No shame in that as it's a team a few categories better than us, but some worries at the back as we keep experimenting with a right footed midfielder in the center back trio on the left, which has been horrendous for the second game in a row.

Just wanted to point out that I've seen that Saudi story at least three times over the past six or seven years when it comes to Leicester. On the part of us being part of the sale, I'll answer more in depth later as I'm really pressed for time today but what I can already say is that a potential sale of Leicester is definitely not tied to what happens at Leicester. There's plenty of upside for KP in owning a Belgian top division team, and the cost is pretty small relative to that upside. Especially since we're working on being financially 'healthy' without outside intervention. Nein.
