  1. Reading these threads I notice too worrying trends.

Firstly there are a lot of people genuinely unable to understand  or trust the information given by scientists and health advisers. This may be due to not having time to digest the information given, disinterest, trust issues or maybe just not being able to interpret data properly. Science and maths isn’t everyone’s thing.  More time and patience is needed to educate on this important subject though I know it has been tried repeatedly.
More upsetting is the subset (aided by social media platforms) who probably get what is getting on yet deliberately try to creat misinformation and mayhem amongst those mentioned above who probably find this a stressful struggle to know what to do for the best. Shameful. Lives will be lost and mostly in the vulnerable groups.

Just seen a Liverpool fan saying "another trophy bottled by Brendan...."

I mean he's literally just won two trophies that Liverpool haven't won for 15 ****ing years, but OK.

Who the hell do they think they are having a go at Leicester and our beloved manager. That’s our job!

  3. Definitely showing signs of kicking on from his breakthrough season last year. Seems to be maturing mentally as well as physically. Love the tenacity he is showing and has the odd trick up his sleeve too. Well done lad. Very proud.

What a brilliant, sobering post. God love him.

Thanks. It was a tough day and I was a bit embarrassed after I shared that. He played alongside Colin Appleton in Scarborough and got to play football in the army during national service. Training in the African sun on the beaches has left him with a lot of skin problems in later life. Difficult to keep on top of treatment during covid times and having late stage dementia whilst in a care home doesn’t help. Still a fighter though and keeps smiling.

  5. We don’t want to leave it too late again and be forced into making rash decisions or ones at inflated prices. Love evans but he isn’t getting any younger. Likewise fofana but he is so good and such potential that we will struggle to hold on to him. If Botman is as good as people have suggested I hope we try our best to get him in.

...he doesn't come in at the sides when he makes the tackle, it is noticeable that he goes to ground infront of the opponent!!!

There is a chance that with a faster paced game  he could be caught out but it looks like something he has always done and is extremely adept in doing so. Benkovic was a player who had a great recovery game and went to ground a lot.  Probably the best feature of his play as he would win the ball and come away with it himself.

Benkovic must be wondering what has gone so wrong in his life, that he is now not even a last resort for our team. I expect him to terminate his contract at the end of the season and to take up commercial opportunities outside of the game.

Yes I quite agree that’s why I called it a sweep tackle. I loved that tackle when I played but every so often a ref will pull you up and even more so nowadays and difficult against speedsters. I haven’t seen enough of him. Have you seen what his all round game is like?. The trouble is we all want a combination of many things but that sort of player is rare and very expensive.

Botman is a very Leicester kinda signing, rumour is going cheaper than before, had /has hype and potential for improvement. If we make one signing this January I think it needs to be a centreback.

Totally. It’s not a rebuild just fixing a glaring problem that is not going away. Looks like he has the right temperament and stature but bit concerned that those sweeping tackles may draw attention from English refs with the pace of our game but that could be addressed.

............Whitworth, Rofe, Kember, Blockley Cross, Weller, Sammels, Worthington, Birchenall, Glover.

Great team and very much integrated with local supporters. Steve kembers kid went to our school and my brother went out with geoff blockleys daughter. Maybe they weren’t such celebrities on mega salaries.

Are they a clear departure from how we worked before?

Vestegaard for £15m from Southampton as a back-up CB feels theoretically similar to signing Danny Ward from Liverpool as a back-up keeper for roughly the same amount to me. I know there's an age difference, but I don't think we expected to recoup that for Ward. I think they were seen as solid backup who would last us for at least a few seasons in the relatively unlikely situation that we'd need to use them.

Bertrand on a free feels very similar to Albrighton on a free or Simpson for a couple of million to me. Experienced Premier League back-up, relatively inexpensive.

Perez for £30m is maybe a bit of an outlier, but he has at least worked out better for us than trying to solve that particular issue with Diabate or Ghezzal.

Not for one minute saying those three have worked out anywhere near as well as equivalent signings, but they're not a complete departure from our previous recruitment approach.

Collectively the club has to take responsibility for signings from the top and retrospective analysis is only useful to the extent that we learn from it and improve.

I wouldnt compare Albrighton with Bertrand other than that they were both on a free transfer. Albrighton was younger with his best years ahead. I was pleased at the time and he has exceeded expectations in every way. As you say Bertrand on a free suited a purpose albeit short term.

It's surprised all of us that Bruno has actually improved us defensively. We look very well organised. Kilman improving to being one of our best players has helped too. Still not conceded from a set-piece yet this season either (fingers crossed).

Chelsea have improved 2nd half but it could still go either way.

Come on Adama. Prove them wrong.

    This is tight.

Yes I agree with you Rumble but my great fear is those liberties being taken away long term by current Covid legislation. Once they change the law to curb your freedom you can bet it will not get reversed again. Although I agree this pandemic is very serious your personal freedoms are even more serious an issue for the future.

I too agree with the sentiment here but the legislation is specific and showing proof of vaccination is not the same as say a national identity card. They shouldn’t use the term covid passport. Take each game one by one.
