  1. As posted previously re: https://www.leicestershireccc.co.uk/news/louis-kimber-called-up-to-the-hundred - "....... He joins Patel, Scott Currie, Josh Hull, and Rehan Ahmed in taking part in this year’s edition of The Hundred. All five will be eligible to return to Leicestershire for Metro Bank One Day Cup fixtures if they are not selected for consecutive matches in The Hundred." Whether the Phoenix coaching set-up have said "Look mate, hang around because you're definitely starting our game on Wednesday" and he's made that call, I don't know.
  2. For whatever reason, they've decided not to bring in Kimber even though permitted to do so i.e. not selected in two consecutive Hundred games
  3. Kimber not playing so he should be available for our game v Essex at Chelmsford on Wednesday.
  4. Kimber will be available for our next game if he misses out on selection for Birmingham Phoenix tonight.
  5. "Hello, is that International Rescue?"
  6. Good luck to Josh, who makes his debut for the Manchester Originals tonight.
  7. And some new guy called 'Wright' has just broken his wicket cherry for the season........
  8. Josh named by BBC Sport as one of their four young players taking part in this year's Hundred who could press their case for future international recognition.

  10. The reality is we wouldn't have troubled the North Group top 6 let alone the top 4 without the addition of Goldsworthy and Currie; it's a big concern that they won't be here (or adequately replaced) next campaign. As others have said or alluded to, T20 players well past their sell-by date (thanks Pete, thanks Jimmy) can do one. Budinger seems to have gone backwards since joining us from Notts' 2nd XI, if his contract was up at the end of the season I wouldn't renew.
  11. Abandoned 1 point each
  12. Rain has returned, covers back on
  13. Ian Holland is back with Washington Freedom for the upcoming Major League Cricket season and Rehan is still out with concussion. Budinger and Swindells will most likely to be in the final XI unless we go with an extra bowler
  14. The vital 132 we added for the 9th and 10th wicket in the 2nd innings turned what may have been a defeat into a victory. See that Tom Scriven made a welcome return from injury today for the 2nds in a T20 game, bagging 3-25 with the ball and then scoring 34 off 23 with the willow.
  15. That was brilliant; should make several ECB county end of year Christmas parties
  16. It's a good day to be a Green. After an impressive bowling performance against them in the pre-series warm up, Academy prospect Alex has been called up to the England Under 19 squad for the forthcoming two-match Youth Test series against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Ben has recorded a first-class high score after sailing into the 50s (previously 54).
  17. One eye on the DLS lads, the ground could be under water in 20 minutes' time.
  18. He may have an outside chance of making the next England Lions squad, which has a fixture 14-17 August at Worcester against the touring Sri Lankans a week before the main test series starts. Totally agree he otherwise looks far closer to gain honours through one of the white ball formats.
  19. Great news about Josh signing a new three-year deal. Profile of Jack Lees, who's currently on trial with the 2nd XI.
  20. A fluent 35 from 24 balls before his fun was stopped by an excellent catch at deep long-on.
  21. Today's 2nd XI team v Durham: NMJ Reifer, HJ Swindells*†, JP Lees, ST Evans, SB Wood, JM Tarling, RI Walker, MET Salisbury, U Ramji, JTS Sumerauer, A Farooq
  22. We have 2nd XI T20 games home to Durham on Monday and Tuesday; possible chance for Swindells (and Goldsworthy) to stake a claim.
