Chance that Rehab will be playing at Hove, Bashir's been given the nod over him for the Lord's Test XII. Good effort (79 red out of 165-9) from Gumbs in our 2nd XI Twenty20 win over Notts today with Alex Green taking an impressive 4-24, Trevaskis 3-18, and Scriven returning from injury. Hull and Wood were laced for 76 off 6 overs between them as the Foxes won a thriller by 1-run.

Some good news on Budinger posted on X(crement) -

Can put his recent IPL stint into good use - with all this hot weather around, we need someone capable of fixing up and carrying all the drinks
-
Great 24 hours for Hull yesterday, not so good today!
-
Nowhere near enough, just one boundary in our last 38 balls
-
Provided the cake selection in The Meet is up to scratch, the result is largely irrelevant.
-
Have a feeling we're going to miss his destructive hitting in the coming Blast. Beyond the openers, our batting doesn't have that X factor, at least until Rehan gets back
-
He needs coaching on D1 standard celeb-appealing though, that was practically apologetic! Rehan finally making his Delhi Capitals in the IPL today, hope he smashes it (just joking, not even in the 16 again).
-
Shame we weren't allowed to replace the injured Weatherald with another batsman
-
Our Under 18s are taking on the Yorkies in back-to-back T20 friendlies today with Alex Green having his first run out this season.
-
He'll probably still be batting at tea on Sunday....... and we so nearly had him when he was on 3, edging just short of Patel at 2nd slip
-
Turner will play ahead of Hill.
-
Delhi Capitals play their last game on 24 May with the IPL knock-out stuff running 26-31 May. They *could* be eliminated before then in which case, they *might* release him early. Even if they do, there's a couple of sommelier jobs in London he might fancy instead

Yep

The Ben Mike conversation probably didn't make the final TF edit; I imagine it may have gone along the lines of - Rae: "If Tom fails his fitness test, is there a chance Ben Mike will come in for him" Thomas: "Are you ******* joking, we've already seen Hully clattered around, imagine what the Essex batting line-up will do to Mike's assorted half-track pies and full-tosses!!"

On last night's Talking Foxes update, Alfonso said that Davey had a scan yesterday on a suspected hip flexor injury. Davey says he's feeling fine and if the scan's all clear i.e. just tightness, will have a light bowl; he may be back sooner than we think. Scriven is a doubt for Essex, he picked up a bruised rib in the previous Notts game and then aggravated it bowling in the first innings. No mention of Alex Green's availability. Middlesex will come back on a request from us to extend Helm's loan, who's very happy to be here apparently.

Hard to think if I have ever seen a worse ball leave

Day 3 report from Sussex v (spits coffee out) Derbyshire!! ".......His 89-ball 56 included six fours and a straight six, when he jumped down the wicket to hit Jack Carson down the ground. Patel took the attack to Carson, whose opening six-over spell went for 36. But Tattersall found another strong partner in Steve Eskinazi, who was twice struck painful blows on the hand on his way to an unbeaten 26. When the players left the field for the last time, at 17:30 BST, Derbyshire were 154-4, with Tattersall having faced 128 deliveries."

Let's try "Tom Scriven couldn't buy a wicket at the moment"
-
I'm not giving him Leaning's wicket, you can have that one!
-
The squad to take on Sussex includes Helm and for the first time this season, Alex Green, even though he didn't play in the recent 2nds match...... probably going for a bit of a work out with Thomas and the lads. Budinger keeps his place and out goes Davey.
-
And that's without their main spearhead, Josh Tongue and Fergus O'Neill - I suspect we'd be batting again by tea if they were both playing!
-
"Thanks Josh, take a blow"
-
Scriven has come in as an injury substitute for Davey.
-
The internet will probably explode if he gets to face Tongue when we play Nottinghamshire
