  1. I was at Trent Bridge today. If we lose this it has to be the end of Key and McCullum. This team is just incapable of pushing on from a decent position. I’m not sure why they seem to shit themselves so much because the wicket keeper is standing up to the stumps. That first hour this morning was disgusting tbh. Bethell could have been out 4 or 5 times wafting at balls outside off stump that he could have left and eventually one found his edge. Smith is rubbish behind the stumps and looks like a walking wicket every time he bats. For the love of God pick a ****ing proper keeper. Sick to death of it tbh. English cricket is an absolute joke.
  2. You’re right. 2/75. Funny how your mind plays tricks. I just remember his bowling at the death.
  3. I attended the ODC final In 2023 and thought Hull was head and shoulders above every other bowler that day. I wasn’t at all surprised to see him get an England Test call up a year later. I can’t believe how much he’s regressed.
  4. Obviously it was too much in favour of the bowlers but the contrast between England’s woeful short and wide bowling in the Ashes to the 1st Test here was very heartening. Robinson is part of that but Atkinson now seems to have completely mastered wobble seam. Tongue also now looks like a proper Test match bowler.
  5. Big fan of the job Parling has done. Hopefully they have found someone who will stick around for a long time.
  6. If a northern ground produced a Test match wicket like that they’d be getting their hosting rights stripped. Lord’s for all its history and grandeur has produced some shocking wickets in recent years.
  7. Duckett did his usual - giving his wicket away with a nothing shot after getting himself in. Bethell was unlucky, whilst Gay and Root got good balls. Not sure what the **** Brook and Stokes were doing. Every run is precious in these conditions.
  8. Still hasn’t sunk in yet to be honest. I’ve had 30 years of “have you ever seen a Mackem in Milan?” from those morons up the road. Well next season there’s a good chance you actually will see a Mackem in Milan. I’d have snapped your hands off for Conference League yesterday morning so to get Europa League was just something else. I was slightly emotional at full time. I have faith that the ownership and recruitment team will be ambitious again this summer. I feel it’s a bit of a myth that playing in Europe = season of struggle tbh. Only one team in the last 26 years has been relegated the season after qualifying for Europe: Ipswich in 2002. It’s going to be tough but it’ll be one hell of a ride.
  9. I’m torn tbh as we’ve not played in Europe since the 70s but the thought of flying to Poland for example on a Thursday then travelling to Brighton on a Sunday feels like a step too far at the moment. Been an amazing season though. Beyond my wildest dreams in truth to have 51 points heading into the final game.
  10. The team I play for on a Saturday were bowled out for 24 yesterday. Yours truly getting a second ball duck.
  11. Leicestershire have been incredibly unlucky with injuries and tbh once Handscomb decided to stay in Australia I think the squad looks worse than last season. It was always going to be tough to stay up. The coaches have done so well the last few years that they deserve persevering with. Grace Road is my favourite ground and I’ll be getting down there for a few One Day Cup games in the summer. I managed to get to the final day against Notts a couple of weeks ago.
  12. I’m always on the lookout for nice walks, especially around historical sites. I live not too far away from Bosworth Battlefield so I’ve been round there a fair few times. If anyone has any other recommendations for Leicestershire or North Warwickshire I’d be really grateful.
