  1. We’re set to lose around £100m from relegation to the championship. We’ve got 7 players out of contract who can walk away for nothing. We have a whole rebuild to do and practically need to sign a new team without PL TV money and likely reduced commercial income as well. I think you might be underestimating the financial situation of our impending relegation somewhat. We were already skint before going down
  2. Yeah cos we’re rolling in it right now - there’s so much money around we’ve actually started burning it for fun
  3. An adult about it? Is that what you think the difference is? You think fans upset and frustrated about the appalling mismanagement of the club that has seen it unnecessarily fall off a cliff are entitled kids? That we think we’re owed something, but you’ve got the maturity to get it all into perspective?
  4. Another thread hijacked by a bunch of bottlers content to sit by and watch the club slide into oblivion because they don’t really care enough to do anything. Even worse than that they hide behind the fact no one has co-ordinated anything yet as a perfect cover to be able to snipe at people who want to.
  5. We do know and with all due respect I’m not going to go and do your research for you. The role of the executives has been detailed extensively over the years in The Athletic and by several other well regarded journalists with sources in the club And by the way the fans have never been close to protesting against the KP group - even as we look set to sink almost as quickly as Leeds did. The fans have been incredibly supportive and shared in the success and through the previous relegation battles. The KP group have always been hands off with the fans and media, it’s just their style
  6. No one is talking about ripping up seats at the King Power stadium and taking a dump in the directors box. I haven’t seen any real abuse on here either - just passionate debate. it’s about channeling that frustration into a message that can send a signal that we want to go back to what we were - a well run club. Not a mismanaged mess that’s fallen off a cliff quicker than Leeds did. We don’t want to go back to being little old Leicester - we have been a brilliantly run club that moved away from that model with disastrous results. We want to be that club again
  7. And that’s the mentality that eventually sees you relegated and back to footballing oblivion. Happy with our lot, let’s spend the next 30 years reminiscing about the good times while we sit around near the bottom of the championship. Sounds like great fun
  8. That’s not what the poster is saying. The chance to be an established PL club comes from operating smartly - the way we did for many years. Excellent recruitment, knowing when to sell and re-investing accordingly, improving infrastructure to boost commercial revenue etc. What I think posters are missing is we aren’t getting relegated because it was inevitable. We’re getting relegated because we have broken from the model that made us so successful in the first place
  9. This makes no sense on almost every level. it’s almost like you’ve learned next to nothing from the past 9 years. what you should have taken away is that smaller clubs CAN compete with the bigger ones AS LONG as they remain well run. Now I’m not saying we could have been an established top 6 side with our finances - but equally, the incredible recruitment team allowing us to buy gems for next to nothing and sell them for huge money has seen us go from championship to champions league - picking up trophies in the process it actually happened and Brighton aren’t a million miles away from Top 4 this season either. I think you’re confusing our demise, which is the result of abandoning the model that made us successful, for inevitability. Brighton have lost players and managers to bigger clubs. Yet their decision making is so good they are improving. Your aim should be to the best of the rest in the PL and go for European football. We’ve done it, other teams can do it. Relegation happens not because it’s inevitable - but because clubs spend the money they have badly. That’s the difference. Look at Chelsea this season - by your logic no smaller team should be able to touch them - they’re currently 10th The fact is we are being relegated with the 8th highest wage bill in the PL. it’s not because we can’t compete financially, it’s because we haven’t operated smartly
  10. You kind of have to split the KP era into two - Vichai and Top. The foundations for our success were put in place under Vichais tenure. Those foundations have started to crumble after he passed away. Covid hit every clubs finances outside the top 6, but that’s not the reason for us being where we are. We took a ridiculous financial gamble in 2021 when our finances were already in a difficult place and broke away from the model that made us so successful. Then, unlike his father, Top was unable to make the ruthless decision needed to rescue the clubs top flight status what comes next financially could make Covid look like a walk in the park. I’m not seeing any signs that Top has learned anything yet
  11. By that logic there’s absolutely no point in competing at all. You’ll never be rich unless bought by a state funded consortium and even if you do well for bit you’ll get relegated soon enough. I mean it’s a bloody good job Vichai didn’t look at football through that lens. I think he realises that if you ambition, you can realise your potential. If you keep recruiting well, build a culture. Invest in infrastructure, you can grow and you can compete. Not always, not every year - but it’s not inevitable that it will fall apart the way it has if Brighton keep making the smart decisions they are. they will stay in the top flight. We made a series of awful decisions - that’s why it ended
  12. I mean personally I don’t see any evidence in the last 2 years of the KP group being capable of making those changes. It’s a bit like expecting Rodgers to suddenly come good - was never happening. they’ve overseen a drop off from FA cup winners and top 6 in the PL to relegated inside 18 months. Even Mike Ashley would struggle to have achieved that
  13. Not without some serious changes we won’t
  14. Again more of the ‘let’s just be grateful eh?’ talk. No one is talking about trading or swapping anything. We’ve done the impossible, followed it up with an FA cup win, had an opportunity to establish ourselves and we’ve pissed it away through poor planning, incompetence and neglect. What makes this relegation so painful is that it’s entirely avoidable. If you want your club to be a small town yo yo team for the next 20 years then good for you. Some of us want a slightly better future for the club
  15. Again - please read the thread. You’ll see on several occasions that I’ve said I’m prepared to initiate and co-ordinate something. The fact I haven’t until this thread doesn’t mean I shouldn’t criticise fans who attend games for being too passive in my opinion
  16. Please read through the thread before coming out with comments like this. I’ve clearly stated that I’d expect us to be down by the West Ham game. I’d hardly want to organise something against the DoF if we needed a win to survive
  17. Yeah our fans are mostly comprised of a bunch small club mentality bottlers who are just happy to get free donuts every now and again
  18. Iheanacho has 12 months left on his contract in yet another shambles overseen by Rudkin. That means he’s going in the summer as we definitely now can’t afford to lose players for nothing
  19. He has answered the question. Very clearly
  20. I live over 200 miles away and since I moved im no longer a season ticket holder. The reason I’ve set this thread up is because I’m quite willing to contribute financially to a co-ordinated protest if others are willing i can’t get to the ground regularly - but if people are interested in clubbing together for something visually effective that sends a message to Top (eg the Moyes Out plane) then I’d support than and help to co-ordinate
  21. And this is exactly why nothing ever changes. The Rodgers out protests were pathetic. You call a few sheets of A4 being held up while a few Rodgers Out chants are heard somewhere in the Kop a protest?! The reason Rodgers stayed in post for so long is because the vast majority of fans stood there like slack-jawed planks watching on in silence before leaving after 75 mins of every game. The fans have been atrocious at voicing their opinions and calling for change or even holding the club to account. They’re atrocious because we have too many fans who are just grateful we’re higher than league 1 or who don’t think their voices will make a difference. Leicester fans have 2 choices. Watch their club slide down the pan in silence or fight for the future of the club and make their feelings known
  22. I genuinely hate stuff like this. Absolute small club mentality in spades. The whole ‘let’s be grateful that our club is needlessly spiralling towards the championship and financial oblivion because it’s been an amazing ride” If some fans want the old Leicester back - they’re welcome to it. For those fans that wanted a stable premier league club built on the foundations of unprecedented success - then our anger and frustration shouldn’t be mistaken for a lack of gratitude for what we achieved
  23. He’s not a go between and never has been. He’s a DoF and very very influential at the club.
  24. The idea that Rudkin is merely a go between us absolutely laughable and shows what you’re dealing with when debating with some Leicester fans who clearly can’t be arsed to do any research into how the club operates. People also seem to confuse a head of recruitment role with a DoF role and start bizarrely attributing the success of our scouting team to Jon Rudkin. Absolutely bizarre. Jon Rudkin is now the most influential person at this football club. He is the advisor to Top on managerial appointments and overall strategy. He’s responsible for player contracts, overseeing the head of recruitment (not signing the players individually) and the overall operation of the club from a footballing perspective. For the last 2 years he’s been doing a terrible job
