It feels to me like a small part of the reason for our predicament is the fact that fans haven’t been making their feelings known about the board. I think this is because of a number of other fans blinded by the past and still utterly convinced we have the best owner in the world and a great bunch of executives. They’re almost as complacent as the players have been

I mean I’ll have a go at flying it

So - this plane then. Who is up for it?
-
Same here. Would absolutely donate to that but no idea how to organise it. Any takers?!!

Let me counter that. The foundations for winning the league were not built with Jon Rudkin as DoF - he was relatively new in the role when it happened He has overseen a shift away in the last 2 years from a recruitment model implemented under Vichai with disastrous results. This has resulted in scouts leaving the club who have become despondent over no longer being listed to He has overseen a situation where £120m of assets are leaving the club for free. Iheanacho has 12 months left on his contract and will likely now not sign another with his value now diminished He has overseen the appointment of Lee Congerton on Brendan Rodgers recommendation which resulted in a terrible recruitment window or 2021 He has been responsible for handing out ridiculous wages to average players resulting in Leicester having the 8th highest wage bill in the PL while sitting in 19th He failed to act decisively on Rodgers and reportedly was involved in handing him an unprecedented amount of power He is responsible for the direction of this football club and we have gone from a top 6 FA cup winning team to the championship in 18 months

And I think this is why fans aren’t being more vocal. Imagine how awkward it could be with large Rudkin out banners as he’s sat there next to Top. He needs to feel the pressure otherwise we silently let this club slide into oblivion
-
There needs to be a fan protest against our DoF who is the first point of accountability for the absolute shambles we find ourselves in. While Top bears ultimate responsibility - Rudkin is the most influential voice at the King Power and bears responsibility for the footballing operations and direction of the club. I don’t think anyone could argue that as DoF he has utterly failed in the last 2 years. I think the West Ham game would be the perfect opportunity to make our feelings known to Top. We are surely down by that point anyway so it’s not going to influence our fate. Ultimately if we don’t let Top know how WE the fans feel about how our club is being run then NOTHING will change We need a new structure in place at board level to bounce back. Now how do we hire a fecking plane?
-
Vichai ran the club for 6 of those seasons and had laid the foundations for the clubs success. Rudkin had less power and influence over the running of the club when he was first appointed with Vichai making and getting the big calls right. The foundations for success, overhaul of the clubs ethos and investment into Leicester itself were by Vichai, not his pen pusher Rudkin who reportedly is responsible for advising Top on keeping Rodgers

What a shambles of a thread this is on a number of levels First and foremost, no club goes from being top 6 FA cup winners to relegated in 18 months without being horribly mismanaged. If that were under Mike Ashley it would be clear who people would be blaming No one is saying we shouldn’t have taken on debt and stretched ourselves with wages, but the reason it’s unravelled is because the club has taken ridiculous gambles. First and foremost the idea to break the model of selling a key asset in 2021 to gamble on getting European football after a pandemic had already started to wipe out finances was nuts. Secondly the club invested too much in Rodgers, gave him too much power and moved away from the model of signing young hungry players to sell on, with disastrous consequences. The recruitment of 2021 was the signalling of that new direction and it frustrated some of our scouts to the point they left the self imposed transfer embargo that saw us sign 1 player in 18 months was a laughable mismanagement of finances that has directly been responsible for our plight The contractual situation beggars belief. £120m of assets walking away for free leaving a group of players who won’t be affected if we go down and the OP wants to make a case that we aren’t mismanaged Its these kind of fans that deserve championship football
-
Fans thinking we’ll do a Burnley next season haven’t really got their head around what a serious state this club is in. To do a Burnley you need to be a well run club with a clear philosophy and strategy, a number of good quality players still at the club and an excellent recruitment strategy. We have none of those things going for us. We’re also in a financial mess This club is in a spiral and it’s going to be a long time before the fans see PL football again unless King Power look to sell the club
-
When your club is a broken mess off the field, it eventually becomes a broken mess on it.

Weird comment. Of course they’re aware, as was Rodgers. Ndidi clearly feels he can play, perhaps they want to give him that opportunity, but his head hasn’t been in the right place for a while
-
He’s apparently going through a personal issue at the moment that is pretty traumatic and it’s clearly been affecting his game for months. Rob Tanner mentioned it - I don’t think he’s mentally in the right place to be playing and needs to be dropped
-
How are we not getting relegated either way?!
-
Turned down by Marsch 😂😂😂😂 Left with Alan Pardew 😂😂😂 #khunflop

The people running the club have rotted it to its core. They enabled Rodgers at every turn, failed to act until far too late, gambled financially and now they’re about to commit suicide with the appointment of Marsch. It’s over until Top sells up -
Yeah it costs us in the region of £100m. Not something financially the club are going to bounce back from any time soon. if Top stays and we are relegated (which sadly he will) then we start again. This time without a Pearson and Walsh to help build the club from the ground up and without the financial injection we had in the championship. We are basically Blackburn now

Gary Lineker steps down from MOTD

The big difference is that the Nazis were building up public support to strip Jews in their own country of all their rights before deporting them to concentration camps. This government is appealing to popular consensus to win an election. Now I’m not defending the tories but there is a MASSIVE difference -

I’m using Gary Neville as a different example of a similar thing. Lineker is followed by 8.7m people because he’s a sports broadcaster and he represents the BBC. It’s the BBC that made his broadcasting career. The BBC has impartiality guidelines that are in his contract and include personal social media accounts. He’s ignored them -

I guess because he’s under a contract with the BBC that requires him to remain impartial while representing them and that includes his social media account when he’s not presenting MOTD. If it wasn’t part of his contract they wouldn’t have grounds to speak to him He’s also got previous for this so he’s clearly a knob. If wants to spout politics he should work for another organisation where it isn’t a problem. -

Personally I’m getting sick of football pundits getting political. The way Gary Neville has woven his Labour supporting views into Sky Sports shows at times has been sickening to watch. I don’t like the new refugee policy and I don’t like the Tories. The last person I want to hear from on the matter though is Lineker or Neville -
Next up Chelsea at home, 11th March 3pm

We’ll set up so defensive that literally nothing will happen for the first 30 mins. Then there’ll be a corner and Faes will score a freak own goal 0-1. After that we’ll create nothing until the 70th minute where we will push our players up but lose the ball on the halfway line. Havertz will then be 1 on 1 with Ward who won’t even dive 0-2 Rodgers will say the players showed great mentality and character and also say the line ‘we gave it away cheaply’ multiple times. He’ll say we needed to be a bit more clinical in the final third despite not having created a single chance or shot on target. Maddison will hobble off injured for 6 weeks
