Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
DZ-LCFC replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Ruud van Nistelrooy reveals he phoned Enzo Maresca before taking the #LCFC job. "I have to say, when the interest came, the first one I called was Enzo. He was so positive about it. He absolutely loved his time. When you hear these things, it’s a club you want to be a part of. Obviously, with the interest coming, I phoned him and I asked him more detailed questions about the Club, the structures, the people that work there, the squad, the stadium, the fans, the town, the surroundings… it was a fantastic conversation. It’s always a pleasure to talk to him. -

Leicester owner Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha will take more of a lead role in the club’s search for a new manager after being left unimpressed by the appointment of Steve Cooper. With Potter again ruling himself out, former Manchester United interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy and West Brom’s Carlos Corberan are two of the leading candidates to succeed Cooper. And, while not the deciding factor, sources have told talkSPORT he was unimpressed with the 44-year-old’s scathing post-match attack on referee Andrew Madley. The Thai businessman, who consulted senior Leicester players before making his decision to axe Cooper, had Graham Potter top of his wish-list to replace Enzo Maresca last summer but could not get the deal over the line. Once the new man is in place, Top also plans to have a major input in
