  1. Iphones are poorly spec'd and are vastly overpriced, you would have to be stupid to buy one right now.

OP needs good Apple integration so to my mind needs an iPhone. Doesn't necessarily need the 5S or 5C though, if it were me I'd pick up a 4S or 5.

  2. If you want excellent integration with iTunes you want an iPhone, that's the main advantage.

I've got a HTC Mini One, love it. Same hardware as the full size, so not slower, and it's still a massive phone, about five inches. I pay £27 a month for unlimited calls and texts and 1GB data.

  3. Drugs debates are always tricky because at heart it's a matter of principle vs practicality.

The bottom line in terms of principle for me is that drugs, all of them including booze and fags, are bad things. They make people ill (please don't kid yourself that cannabis is "safe" just because it's safer than alcohol), they make people behave antisocially. And you know what, people who rely on substances to enjoy themselves are frequently incredibly boring and devoid of ambition.

For me, in an ideal world drugs would be criminalised as to say they are legal encourages these factors, in principle.

However, clearly criminalisation brings a myriad of problems with them and there is a solid argument to say that it fosters just as much antisocial behaviour and spawns a huge amount of criminal activity in itself. Humans have always consumed mind-altering substances and it seems unlikely to change. The financial argument is sound and similarly, if you know who is taking the drugs because it's legal, you  can put in place safeguards to minimise the health and social aspects.

  4. City bashing is always so tedious, they're all much of a muchness. They've all got charming spots and they've all got minging spots. I was interviewed at Leicester Uni and I quite enjoyed pottering round the centre, it seemed quite pleasant, but the rest seems a bit characterless, particularly the area around the stadium (as is standard these days). Hull always gets knocked, especially by football fans because the walk from the station to the KC is absolutely vile, but the centre and areas like the Marina are quite nice. Asserting that other cities are shitholes makes things even worse because it just maintains the status quo. It's good that Hull and Leicester are up for the City of Culture because it might stimulate some badly needed investment, but all you see is people coming out to big up their city being pilloried.

  5. I said this to a housemate, that Countdown bird was not quite that hot when she first started, she must have absolutely smashed it at the gym cause her body is exquisite now.

  6. Don't think that's too bad to be honest doesn't rank anywhere near the other stuff. It's the kind of costume you see at young people's parties all the time. Was right to be expelled from the Tory party (though the idea that he was caught through his facebook I think is a worse issue) and should be forced to apologise for the family but friggin hell, it's far from some of the stuff in here.

  7. Nope thats the biggest price.

    Im on it £5 e/w

Think I might put it on myself. Good odds for him, considering we should be strong in the league, and we and Fryatt in particularly have been scoring well in preseason. I'm pretty sure he's no. 1 striker here now as well, with Howard and Campbell competing for the other spot.

  8. Placed my first ever bet today (well, got a mate to do it, still got a few months left til I'm 18), went for a pound on an accumulator;

    Derby County v Manchester United

    Sunderland v Chelsea

    Fulham v Everton

West Bromwich Albion v Leicester City

    Hull City v Southampton

    Colchester United v Cardiff City

    Tranmere Rovers v Hartlepool United

    Bournemouth v Yeovil Town

    Luton Town v Oldham Athletic

    Darlington v Grimsby Town

    Lincoln City v Stockport County

    Wrexham v Bury

St Mirren v Hearts of Midlothian

Odds are huge, mainly just abit of fun though.

  9. I'm finding it very irksome that all this attention, time and money is going on this one problem. Yes it's tragic, yes I'd do the same if I were her parents so I don't blame them, yes I want her to be found but for Christ's sake, surely a fund for searching for missing people in general, or for the protection of children is better than this? There's a big world out there. I can't believe it's still in the news.

  10. I think it's fooking disgusting that this Robert Murat's face is all over the media... lets face it, whether he's done anything wrong or not he's gonna get loads of shit for it. He may well be the man and may he rot in hell if so but until then for Christ's sake surely he had right to anonymity?

  11. Children all over the world are taken every day, for a variety of reasons, and as we (don't) see, many of those never make the news. Perhaps the money should be donated to some cause or agency that helps the parents, if there is one? :dunno:

    I agree.

I also have to say that I really don't believe that Madeleine McCann is still alive. I think that as soon as the culprit knew he or she was being pursued they'll have killed and dumped. No ransom demands = her being dead in my eyes. The only hope is it's some mental women who's lost her own child and took this one to care for it as a "replacement".
