Braybroke is having a good game for Chesterfield. He can replace Winks next season if he plays like this most weeks. He takes up similar positions to what Winks does and looks to dictate the play

I aint going to this one, but I feel that the club should pay for the fan's coaches on this one - they used to do this back in the day and the cost of several coaches is a drop in the ocean to them and would at least make 'some' fans think that it is a decent gesture.
They should then repeat this several times next season to reward some of our fans who travel up and down the country, come rain or shine. Like I said, for 'some' fans, they would see this as at least they are starting to try.
It is never going to happen though, deffo a mute point

Any chance of Liam Rosenior, now that he has been sacked??

Paul Warne, had success there with Derby.
I have just remembered that this guy bought Derby back within 2 seasons, with Derby being severely restricted financially in their first season of League 1. It looks like he is about to get MK Dons Automatic promotion from L2, so possibly someone who is worth a bit of consideration.
Edit: I really need to use Google a bit more before I post on here!!! I have also seen he has 3 L1 promotions with Rotherham under his belt (granted 3 Championship relegations as well)! Apologies, that this has already likely already been said.

I’m talking cost.
The brightest L1 strikers (Tolaj and Ballard) are contracted for a number of years to 2029. Last summer, probably the best equivalent Kone went to the Championship for £6 mill and he had only a year left on his contract. Given the extra years the ones this year are under contract for, you’re realistically looking at at least £8 mill, potentially more either basic or with add ons.
I then ask myself where we are getting £8 mill from and it becomes obviously to me they we won’t be shopping in that particular market!
Agreed, we will not have 8 million to spend on a Striker and nor should we in my opinion. If Orient were to ask 8 million for someone like Ballard then we should just move on.
Even 3-4 million is probably a stretch for us atm, but more likely the ballpark that we will find ourselves in hunting for a main striker. It will likely force us to look abroad, if L1 clubs start asking high amounts.

If we can spend a little I’d like Webster from Burton, Tickle from Wigan and Tolaj from Plymouth, and look at Cozier-Duberry either on loan or permanent too
Webster is a good shout. One year left on his contract, will likely make Burton open to offers in the summer? Someone with a potential high ceiling as well.

I would love it if he signed for us and led us back up.
Unfortunately, I just don't see it happening.

Yano what’s funny we actually need 2 new strikers we will have none in a few weeks which tbf isn’t a bad thing how bad the ones we’ve currently got!
Agreed, we need 2 maybe even 3 strikers for next season. If you think back to our last time in League One, we had Fryatt (32), Howard (15) and even Dickov (3) as a backup.
Between those players alone came 50 goals.
I would back Jake Evans to be that third striker next season and to score more than Dickov did in that season. However, I am a bit scared that we need to find a 30 goal a year striker next year. The 15 goal a year Howard type striker may come from a Free Transfer (lad from Blackpool) but a 30 goal a year striker (lets even say 25 goals plus) is going to cost us.
If we have 'any' money available for transfers this summer, the bulk of this will go on one of the strikers.

I wonder if Rowett will give such an honest interview as/when we are finally relegated. It would be good if he did let us know his real thoughts like Lee Clark does here (1:30 onwards)

2 players that really catch my eye whether we pull off a miracle or not are Enzo Bardeli (Box crashing CM - 25yo - Dunkerque, Free Agent ) and Jocelyn Janneh (Ball winning DM - 23yo - Bastia),
Enzo Bardeli (Box Crashing CM) - Dunkerque (Ligue 2) Free agent in summer, 29 games, 9 goals, 5 assists from CM, can also play Defensive midfield and Attacking mid, imo would be classy in League 1 and we can easily compete with wages of clubs likely to offer him a deal
Key Stats (Per 90)
0.32 goals (15 goals per season over 46 games, elite for a CM)
0.22 xG (consistently in scoring positions)
2.77 touches in the box
88% passing success
https://www.fotmob.com/en-GB/players/1332540/enzo-bardeli
Jocelyn Janneh (CDM) - Bastia (Ligue 2) Hard tackling Ball winning midfielder. Elite ball winning volume at this level, actively recovers possession. **PRIORITY**
Key stats (Per 90)
6.34 duels won
86.4% successful passes.
58% duel success
65.8 touches (high for a defensive player, good in transition)
6.04 recoveries
3.61 Tackles
https://www.fotmob.com/en-GB/players/1367955/jocelyn-janneh
Few others that catch my eye for a team strapped of cash and needing to sign players with something to offer in the short term:
Dom Iorfa - Free
Max Lowe - Free
Niccolo Squizzato - Free
If Wednesday need to offload players, Pierce Charles will only have 1 year left in summer also.I like the sound of both of them. The club need to cast the net abroad to look for bargains.
I also like the 'Max Lowe' shout: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/max-lowe/profil/spieler/258885

Looks like the profile we need:
Got my hopes up, when I watched this Bristol Rovers fan opinion of Connor Taylor leaving them https://www.google.com/search?q=connor+taylor&oq=connor+taylor&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqCggAEAAY4wIYgAQyCggAEAAY4wIYgAQyBwgBEC4YgAQyBwgCEAAYgAQyBwgDEAAYgAQyBwgEEAAYgAQyBwgFEAAYgAQyBwgGEAAYgAQyBwgHEAAYgAQyBwgIEAAYgAQyBwgJEAAYgATSAQgyMzkxajBqN6gCALACAA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:f7d085d1,vid:qEOBoUaboz0,st:0
But then when you look at the Bristol Rovers forum, they aren't quite so kind 'Mid to low level League One player at best' (although, with how Leicester are doing, that may about suit us next season!!! ;-) )

If (when) we go down, I think Evans will obviously play his part for us next season but I dont think it will be quite as big as some fans are expecting. The game time he is getting at Northampton will be valuable but it also shows just how young and raw he is atm.
My guess is that he will be a sub in most games, next season for us. Like I say, not what some people hope for but it is still good progress for a lad of his age.

Senior players I see staying are Stol, Thomas, Souttar, Skipp and BDCR.
Question marks over Nelson and Vesty, personally see Ben staying and Yannik moving on.
I’ve said this before on here, but the litmus test to our “reset” will be if Hamza is still here next season. Has to go for me
Wilder has recently said that he is looking to sign about 10 players in the summer. Touch wood, one of those is Hamza. Maybe LCFC will offer them a buy one, get one free!!
-
I would also say 'hopefully' winning most weeks, chance for a reset, ridding ourselves of at least 60% of the players who dont want to play for the shirt.

It has to be a relatively low cost gamble. I wouldn't say he's done enough for the job yet but I could get behind Fuchs. Needs to be someone the fans like straight away.
We will spend far too long chasing people that don't want to do it or we can't pay enough though as always.
Yeah agree with you here
I worry that they will waste valuable time, waiting on other clubs to possible part company with their managers first. i.e. Stoke or Birmingham

We will definitely be digging around the Free Transfer market this summer.
One would hope that, if you were the agent of a decent League 1 player whose contract is ending, you would be seeing Leicester as an ideal place to tout your player.
Chatgpt (so I bet the info isn't quite correct) has given me these names.
Depressing as the list is, I bet most of these players would perform better than our current crop of sh*t).

Archie Collins - Peterborough
Looks like he’ll be a free agent in the summer.
As sad as it is to see ourselves in this position, this is probably the type of signing we need to be looking at in the summer.
Get rid of Winks, and take in a Free Transfer player (DM) who has had a peak value of around 850k, and is at a decent age to hit the ground running. I imagine someone like this would come here with a point to prove https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/archie-collins/profil/spieler/472714

We need to find the next NP, which is easier said than done.
Interestingly, Big Nige actually has a big picture of our Championship win, on his website https://www.nigelpearson.net/
Reading the blurb about his stint at Bristol City and working under a significantly reduced squad budget etc, complying with FFP etc, actually makes him the perfect man for the job.
Bringing him back, would be one thing that our ownership could do, that would at least go 'some way' to bringing at least some sense of unity or hope back amongst the fanbase. Obviously, the ownership wouldn't think the same, and will no doubt look for the next Enzo

Ethan Pye from Stockport
Dom Ballard from Orient
New RB&LB (I actually think the core of our leftover squad is set up for 3-4-3 next year, so wingbacks)
experienced CM and CF for squad depth
Yeah, Dom Ballard would be the poacher that we need next season in L1

I have just seen this will be 17 years, to the day, where we won the League 1 title, away at Southend.
What an amazing away day that was, I can't see this one being quite so joyous!!!

I have just looked at our 2008/09 rebuild - I had forgot that we bought Dickov back!!
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leicester-city/transfers/verein/1003/saison_id/2008
Its a shame that you just cant see Leicester being able to make the right appointment, and performing a similar level of rebuild.
Oh and to 'possibly' make you smile. Take a look at this - some of the people at the start made me laugh (apologies if it is any of you on here!!)
-
As others have said, I would go for Dave Challinor. That is, presuming Stockport don't get promoted. He has obviously took Stockport from the National League, to a team pushing for promotion out of League 1. A lot of their supporters are surprised that Championship teams haven't been trying to take him.
Granted, if I was Challinor and looking at our club, I would say 'thanks but no thanks'!!

There's no value even to use in letting anyone go at that value.
They'll sell players for millions and high earners. There's no way Alves and Braybrooke are going for money reasons.
