  1. I'd agree with HD certainly. Ah yes Cobby, happy memories of beating his all-conquering Kibworth CC under 13s team as a kid.
  2. Well let's face it, it's bound to get worse before it gets better as the Kolpaks get phased out, but I'd rather watch good young cricketers learning their trade at first class level week in, week out, for Leicestershire, than watch a team of players who don't give a shit and are only in it for a big pay packet.
  3. Most county fans would agree that that's the ideal five year plan, it's going to take time to recover. Though I'd pretty much take anything above the current shower of (Kolpak) shite we're stuck with at present.
  4. It's a shame that there aren't more state schooled youngsters in the pipeline, but admittedly Oakham School and Loughborough University are two fantastic local breeding grounds for young players.
  5. Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough, delish.
  6. I can, and frequently do, spit on Clacton. Guess that's not quite far enough though...
  7. Haha, sadly Blue Water's at the wrong end of Essex. I'm at the 'classy' end if there is such a thing.
  8. It'd be nice if they weren't a Kolpak too!
  9. Amazon. The one year I actually put some fcuking thought into the presents that I'm gonna get my family for Christmas, and they send me an e-mail about a processing error four weeks after I ordered the stuff. Now I'm gonna have to find some stuff in Harborough, because I don't have time to go into Leicester before Christmas, and the presents will now most likely consist of the same old shit I usually get my family. Rubbish. :@
  10. Ended up getting plastered last night, then had a lengthy discussion in the pub about village cricket with Martin Johnson's dad. He knew my uncle too!
  11. Franchise FC.
  12. Brick Top = Evil Legend!
  13. By the way, know he didn't have a particularly decent game yesterday and spends a little too much time at the buffet, but how did we ever let Samit Patel slip through our fingers? He's a Leicester lad according to cricinfo... http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/stanfordtwe...ayer/18632.html EDIT: He went to Worksop College, that probably explains it...
  14. Please get someone in that Stanford team as one of our overseas players next year, sort it out county.
  15. NEW FACEBOOK WHY FIX WHAT ISN'T BROKEN? ARRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! :@
  16. And sod's law says that you always get the phone monkey with the heavy, incomprehensible Glaswegian growl and not the one with the gentle and soothing Highland burr. Luckily, I sorted mine all out earlier this year...
  17. What REALLY grinds my gears is the southbound platform at Harborough station. Why should I have to move up to the first three carriages of the train in order to alight? Why can't the powers that be just extend the platform? There's nothing that I can see to prevent them from doing so, it's just flat waste ground next to the end of the platform. Annoying.
  18. Oh, and Mark Ronson. Taking a load of already popular songs, getting your celebrity mates to sing them, syncopating a few bits here and there, changing them to swing rhythm and adding a brass section to them DOES NOT qualify you as a musical genius. You tool. Go away.
  19. I felt sick when Terry Hall and Lynval Golding lowered themselves to appearing on stage with her at Glastonbury last year. Dammit, what's her appeal? Also, on the subject of music, Kate Nash and Scouting for Girls. I have a C grade GCSE in Music, Grade 3 (distinction) on alto saxophone and a basic knowledge of chords and such, and I could write better songs with more meaningful lyrics than these kinds of prats. Oh, and by the way Nash, feigning a strong regional accent is NOT cool.
  20. Yeah, whereabouts people sitting on Friday (weather permitting)? Club shop side? Bennett End?
  21. Oh well, here's hoping we've picked up a win by then anyhow, send good old Snape off on a high note!
  22. Just a quick question, anyone know if you're still allowed to take booze into Grace Road? I'm taking some mates to their first cricket match on Friday and can't remember what the restrictions were.
  23. Why not retire after Derbyshire in the last game? Or does Notts have a significant meaning for him (the 2006 final) maybe? I'm finding it more and more difficult to get behind county these days, the increase year on year in Kolpak signings to Grace Road is really making me lose my affinity for the players and team. At least The Badger's still around...
