fleckneymike Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Does his 13 strikes back in 99/00 make him our record goals in a season scorer in the Premier league?
Sampson Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 In the league, yes. However, Les Ferdinand got 13 in 03/04, but one of them was in the FA Cup against PL opposition in Manchester City. He also started a lot less games and had a lot less gametime than Cottee due to his knees being knackered, actually getting 12 goals in just 20 league starts, which is pretty damned ridiculous for a side that got relegated.
fleckneymike Posted 25 May 2015 Author Posted 25 May 2015 Sky Sports have answered my question, which was nice - Leonardo Ulloa is only the sixth player after Tony Cottee, Emile Heskey, Paul Dikov, Steve Claridge, and Les Ferdinand to score 10 or more goals in a Premier League season for the Foxes
glenelgfox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Considering the barren spell both the team and Leo endured - he did ok numbers wise stacked up against the above as a season comparison. He did cop alot of criticism re his work ethic, falling over and not scoring but as with Vardy - all was forgiven after end of March to now.
