According to that Percy piece the club have set a 90 point target for the season Over a 46 game season that’s 1.95 points per game. After 7 games we’re averaging 1.28 With 39 games remaining we now need 2.07. At Southampton he averaged 1.58 ppg I’ll update this every game.

It’s important not to overlook how unbelievably shit this league is. We have far better players who are levels above everyone else but we are still guilty of over playing and thinking stuff. All we need to do is run in the general direction of the opposition and we’ll create a chance. As I’ve stated previously our biggest weakness is ourselves. We beat ourselves. We give up needless chances all for the sake of passing it to prove we can pass it.

Let’s make no bones about it, he’s come here because he’s an egotistical twat who saw this as an easy way to rebuild his reputation. He’s clearly thought he could walk in and piss this league playing his style of Pep light football and be hailed a genius. He tried it in Scotland and rightly got ran out of town, and now he’s rolled into town having learnt nothing thinking he can do it again and it’s going the same way as Scotland did.

The ludicrous thing is we’re choosing to play this way not because we need to but because we want to. There is no ‘tactical’ need to play this way in league one. We don’t need to try and pass anyone to death or out think them because we’re unevenly matched or out resourced. Perversely we’ve chosen to adopt a system that actively encourages a low block from the opposition; that actively encourages them to target Okoli and Thomas; that guarantees them space on the counter attack. We’re choosing to beat ourselves. We’re choosing to persist with a style that is a poor imitation of elite football with players who earn in a week what the entire opposition earn.

To cheer everyone up I thought I’d ask what our worst transfer window ever was. To make it more torturous I thought I’d divide it into categories. Reputation (how highly/lowly rated were they prior to joining) Ability v cost (how close to the cost was the ability of signings. E.g. Junior Lewis utterly terrible but cheap) Impact (e.g. how often did they play and affect the team) It’s not you it’s me (were they just crap for us?)

It’s not a philosophy he has, it’s an ego. This is league ****ing one. Just play to win.
