marbelladave Posted 18 August 2015 Posted 18 August 2015 Interesting that. Mainly because it seems to me that, in the main, we are actually less defensive than ever. Sure, we have gone back to a back 4, but we start with Schlupp pushed well forward and with De Laet getting forward too we often seem to have just 2 men back, pretty ballsy. That said, whilst we do seem more composed defensively when under pressure, we have still let in 3 in the first two games so there is still a lot of work to do. Personally I still think 3 at the back is the best option, with Allbrighton and Schlupp wide it gives Mahrez more scope in a free roll and less to do defensively. Playing him wide does rather tend to expose the fullback, De Laet got little help from him on Saturday. CR does seem to like a back 4 though, against better teams, playing 4-4-2 we might still get bossed in midfield, numbers do matter. However, played 2, won 2, seems churlish to complain, which I am not really, just fretting (as I do).
Durnerz Posted 18 August 2015 Posted 18 August 2015 I recall the day's Peter Taylor thought it a good idea to head into a league campaign with two fit centre halves.....
SB87_LCFC Posted 18 August 2015 Posted 18 August 2015 Peter Taylor failed at Leicester because he tried to change the way we played and the players wouldn't commit to it, so that's a little ironic really. Well said that man
