As I did with Cifuentes last season, I remained neutral on the appointment, with what we have endured the last two seasons it was almost as if - ah f**k it lets see what happens - who else could we possibly have got given our predicament. Sadly, the boards appointment is rinse and repeat, we haven't evolved as a team since Rodgers, we still play 1 up top, we still try to play possession based football with players in important areas of the pitch who cannot play that type of football, the rebuild of our club is going to take a hell of a lot longer while we have people involved in it that are only in it for business purposes or to massage their own ego. Our recruitment this season is raising eyebrows, as others have mentioned older players on lucrative long contracts, signing unknown entities and then not utilising them either to their style of football or even at all - its abundantely obvious that our better players are products of our academy because they want to fight for the shirt. Not impressed with Watson, despite him being one I thought would come good here, Cullen is useless, Chaplin is crocked and Burns I am not seeing anything near that he will have an impact at all. Want to see more of Howell and I would say McFarlane is probably the stand out of the players in this summer and while we still continue to play the geriatric McCarthy and Bobby 'I played in the Prem for Fulham' Reid as a false 9 (if you can call it that) I cannot see us improving. Top needs to get a grip if he is still in charge here, show the fans some respect and handle his shi*. Russell ball doesnt work, we dont have a plan B, fans go to work all week looking forward to seeing their team win and be successful not to fail to beat newly promoted teams and get spanked in your own bank yard to Oxford. Thoughts on Michael Noonan? Still only 18, but at 6ft1 and clearly comfortable having it into feet or running in behind might not be a bad option. Granted his goal return in the league of Ireland might not be much to go off, but a lot of people believe across the water think he is potentially as good as Mason Melia who’s at Spurs. Current market value is around €500,000

In light of the Okoli story and Souttars imminent departure, I did some digging to have a look around. Admittedly, this is a guy I found on FM26 and he was an absolute monster, so me being me, I had a look at him IRL. Given we need a centre half I would maybe sooner chuck money at him than at John Souttar. May be a hidden gem and not too much in the way of wages or transfer fee. Looks like he can mix it too There is also this fella, watched about a minute and saw more end product than Mavididi. Market value is 1.8m

If we can get this over the line and sell Soutts for a combined £18m McCarron has pulled off a genius bit of business. But while it is well and good we do need centre halves for saturday! I'd assume it would be Faes and Gray with John Souttar to arrive after the game.
