foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 we sold out home and away pretty much every week anyway so anyone jumping on the glory bus will have to join the queue I expect the stadium to be expanded soon, apparently it was built so it could easily be increased to 40,000. Everton have proper fans unlike a lot of those glory Liverpool fans
1972 Fox Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Evening all, decided to come on whilst all in a good mood! I've been holding off for about two months before giving deserved recognition. After the first 6 or 7 games it was like "just hold on, it could all go wrong at any time" even though I had a feeling it wouldn't as the football that Leicester have played this season has been simply phenomenal. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon as the whole country probably is but from my perspective it makes a great change to football to see Leicester City doing so well. Riyad Mahrez, I came on this forum when you first got promoted last season and had a chat about our forthcoming game. I remember one poster mentioned Riyad Mahrez to me as a special talent and I've watched him since and I couldn't agree more, he is outstanding. I first picked up on Jamie Vardy towards the end of last season and what took my eye was the goal he scored against WBA when he showed unreal determination and hunger to put the ball in the net. Aside from some of the shocking things Nigel Pearson said to your fan base and how he probably came across as a person. He done a remarkable job towards the end of the season and now that Claudio Ranieri is at the helm, I feel he is continuing on from Pearsons foundation and building a massive future for Leicester City. Worst case scenario? You'll finish top 6, but I can honestly seeing this great football continuing and can see Leicester City battling it out in the dying embers of the season. Sounds crazy I know, but what is important is where do you strengthen in January and any ideas on what you need to bring in? It will be a shame if the media circus begin to run rumours of Mahrez, Vardy, Drinkwater, Schmeichel, Ulloha, like they have with Stones, Rom, Barkley. I hope you can keep the squad, bring in any valuable additions and keep that momentum going! We play you in a couple of weeks and as much as I want the 3 points, we will be aware of how good you are and will be seen as one of the biggest sides to come here this season. Roberto will be aware and will also tell the players to be fully alert but I don't expect a win and fully expect a tough game. This can be your season Good luck and you never know you could be crowned champions when we come on the second to last day. Regards Mike Thanks for the complimentary post. I think there are a lot of proper fans from various other clubs who are liking what they see going on at Leicester right now. As a long time Leicester fan from the early 70's that has seen more downs than ups over the last 40+ years I never realistically expected to see my team in this position at the top of the Premier League, especially in these days where the amount of money that the bigger clubs have makes it even harder for the smaller clubs to compete with them. It is only 15 games but I dream that we can somehow manage to maintain our form into the new year and become real contenders. I already find myself getting quite emotional when I think about it, so how I will feel if we are still challenging towards the end of the season I don't honestly know. Regarding Everton, I have nothing but respect for them as one of the great English clubs. The chairman, the manager, the stadium, the history but most of all the supporters. They have always been loyal passionate fans who have followed their team in large numbers through thick and thin. Have seen their fans celebrate so many times over the years on TV like they did at Bournemouth the other week (3rd goal which they thought was the winner), particularly on long FA Cup awaydays. If there is one club other than Leicester that I would wish to have Premier League/European success it is Everton, due to the fact that they had potential European glory taken away from them in the mid 80's because of Heysel.
