MickM86 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Evening all, decided to come on whilst all in a good mood! I've been holding off for about two months before giving deserved recognition. After the first 6 or 7 games it was like "just hold on, it could all go wrong at any time" even though I had a feeling it wouldn't as the football that Leicester have played this season has been simply phenomenal. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon as the whole country probably is but from my perspective it makes a great change to football to see Leicester City doing so well. Riyad Mahrez, I came on this forum when you first got promoted last season and had a chat about our forthcoming game. I remember one poster mentioned Riyad Mahrez to me as a special talent and I've watched him since and I couldn't agree more, he is outstanding. I first picked up on Jamie Vardy towards the end of last season and what took my eye was the goal he scored against WBA when he showed unreal determination and hunger to put the ball in the net. Aside from some of the shocking things Nigel Pearson said to your fan base and how he probably came across as a person. He done a remarkable job towards the end of the season and now that Claudio Ranieri is at the helm, I feel he is continuing on from Pearsons foundation and building a massive future for Leicester City. Worst case scenario? You'll finish top 6, but I can honestly seeing this great football continuing and can see Leicester City battling it out in the dying embers of the season. Sounds crazy I know, but what is important is where do you strengthen in January and any ideas on what you need to bring in? It will be a shame if the media circus begin to run rumours of Mahrez, Vardy, Drinkwater, Schmeichel, Ulloha, like they have with Stones, Rom, Barkley. I hope you can keep the squad, bring in any valuable additions and keep that momentum going! We play you in a couple of weeks and as much as I want the 3 points, we will be aware of how good you are and will be seen as one of the biggest sides to come here this season. Roberto will be aware and will also tell the players to be fully alert but I don't expect a win and fully expect a tough game. This can be your season Good luck and you never know you could be crowned champions when we come on the second to last day. Regards Mike

whoareyaaa Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Thanks for the kind views, If we was going to buy in January then I think we would possibily go for one quality no.10 or a creative midfielder similar to Marhez although I wouldn't be too suprised if we didn't do any business at all we have a strong squad and back up in most postions and the team seem to stay fit all the time.

Makes me feel very proud when I read a post like this from a supporter of another team. Always had a soft spot for Everton since Lineker was there and you've got one of the most humble and honest managers in Martinez. Whatever happens, I hope you have a good season too.
MickM86 Posted 5 December 2015 Author Posted 5 December 2015 I think the hardest part of the season is usually the Christmas period and January. I disagree the transfer window should be open during play and can sometimes have an affect on results. As much as there's pressure in the last ten games or so, I think it can also be more enjoyable as you have something more concrete to aim for. As Roberto one said he doesn't look at the league table until the last ten games and this is when all the hard work in pre-season shows. I'll be able to give a more detailed view on your team once we have played you as I'll see a lot more off the ball movements than what you would on telly. Will the FA cup be a great sideshow to the season?
I blame Wellens Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 We are just enjoying the ride. After 10 years of crap and not being a traditional yo yo club maybe this is god's way of evening it all out.
kyleolly Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 I think we should sign Ross Barkley he'd be a good squad player!
weller54 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 What a nice post.. Other teams supporters are nicer than some of our own.. Hey Ramadone .. Or whatever your name is! Good luck to Everton too.. Great club with a fantastic history!
Vacamion Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Everton are One of my favourite "other" teams, partly because they are a brilliantly run club, partly because their fans seem a bit more authentic than the day trippers at the mausoleum across Stanley Park, but mostly because I have a man crush on Leighton Baines and his glorious left back play. Would be great if we were both up there in May.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Welcome and I hope you are right, I think we have what it takes to make a challenge for top six even for top 4. We have played the best football for sure, this is the best I have ever witnessed our team do, even better than the O'Neill years. This team has flair and excitement... we aren't just nicking results, we are going out there and outplaying teams with outstanding attacking football.

Good luck to Everton too.. Great club with a fantastic history! Thank you, league cup will be a nice addition to the cabinet. I think we should sign Ross Barkley he'd be a good squad player! Doubt he'd wanna waste away on the bench! Haha Cheers Mike. Makes me feel very proud when I read a post like this from a supporter of another team. Always had a soft spot for Everton since Lineker was there and you've got one of the most humble and honest managers in Martinez. Whatever happens, I hope you have a good season too. He is a good manager, had a difficult time last season but I put that down to players like Samuel Eto'o who tried to disassemble the squad and told players they could be playing elsewhere. He had to go. This season is much more akin to 13/14 and although the league is a lot closer together in terms of squad ability I still think we should push for a top 4/5 finish
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Thank you for the kind comments. It is a truly amazing time for our club at the moment and it's so good to see us doing this well. We have quality and I think our success has been playing to our strengths, and those qualities. I like Everton myself, I see them as a proper club with passionate fans, nice stadium too. I like Martinez as both a manager and a guy, talks a lot of sense in interviews from what I've seen. Best of luck for the rest of the season by the way.

Harry - LCFC Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Pearson was never abusive to us as fans. He responded aggressively to one person who was abusive to him.
ScouseFox Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 glad to see it's not just some of our fans who can see we are the best team since the invincibles
yorkie1999 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 I think we should go in for Barkley, stones and lukaku and give them a shot at winning the league.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 I think we should go in for Barkley, stones and lukaku and give them a shot at winning the league. they would add depth but couldn't break into our starting 11
MickM86 Posted 5 December 2015 Author Posted 5 December 2015 How has current form been seen by your fan base as a whole? Has there been a sudden rise in interest from certain fans who wouldn't usually make the effort, is there more demand for tickets home and away? Ha mate, Barkley, Stones and Lukaku will WIN you the league!

Clever Fox Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Hi MickM86 Good post and thanks. I've already said a Month ago that of all of our Dec fixtures i thought Everton away would be out toughest. simply because Martinez is a top Manager and you have a very solid side, and now that LuKaku is scoring again you will be a tough opponent. But can you tell me what's the story with McGeady. ? Has he been a bad boy.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 How much? 60-80 million. It's got to be worth it to win the league. It would require a lot more than that I'm sure especially in January ... even if we offered 200 million they wouldn't sell those three
johnny the fox Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Still think there is a lot more to come from this team.. thought we were in second gear today.

MPH Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 The strangest thing about it is our record signing, who we battled Chelsea for, can't even get in the match squad!!
Fox92 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Cheers, a nice post. The season has been unbelievable so far. I don't mind Everton, a well run likeable club, so best of luck for the rest of the season. Very excited for our trip to Goodison in two weeks, it'll be my first visit and I think it will be a great game. You'll come at us and we're good on the counter.
