I have had a few drinks after the fantastic victory today and 2 more great goals from the wonderful Vardy. It got be thinking back to the days where our strikers were De Vries and Hammond and I got excited by the prospect of Carl Cort and Cadamarteri. I thought haven't we improved and so decided to see if I could create a list of the best striker we had each season, in my opinion, and how we have improved. It is not about how well they did for us in that one season but more over their whole career who was better. So here it is. 2005-2006. Matt Fryatt 2006-2007. Matt Fryatt 2007-2008. Steve Howard I have just bored myself but you got the idea. Maybe if someone wants to do this with more effort and stats, I would love to see how our midfield improved since the big days of Gudjonsonn.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 3 February 2016 Posted 3 February 2016 in 2005 we considered Joey Gudjonsson to be our best player and Paul Henderson our best goalkeeper. Mark de Vries made 29 appearances, 20 of them starts. We were excited about the additions of Elvis Hammond and Ryan Smith to give us some attacking options. Robert Kelly saved our season and was untouchable in most of our fans' eyes until February. Martin Allen was considered a trade up from him.
