Wasn’t he Newcastle’s captain for quite a while? Just hoping if he was then he must have some strength of character and be able to resist any current negativity and hopefully be an uplifting presence. All presumption of course. Never met the fella.

15 mins in to his first game he has to deal with being down to 10- men. Needed to bring on a defender to help and someone had to go for that. We have a depleted squad lacking confidence, fitness and availability. I am not a fan of many of this current squad but what line up do people expect King to put out? He can only work with what he has. I know many will respond with play all the kids but do you really expect that to get a positive result either? we are screwed at the moment and it isn’t down to King’s team selection.

What I would give for Justin back.

Anyone who has shown any ability to go forward and be attacking as a choice for our striker, I would take at this point. Make the right deal and what have we got to lose. We haven’t got a striker so let’s go for it.

I’m an armchair supporter and always have been due to either proximity or now habit. I do not look forward to watching the matches at the moment but will continue to do so because I simply feel obliged. I have enjoyed the good times, so must endure the bad times. I don’t expect any game I watch at the moment to be nothing more than frustrating, boring and ultimately disappointing. But that is the life of a football fan. Come on LCFC, all I ask for is leave it all on the pitch. Just once.

When we got promoted in 2014, we had attacking options of Vardy, Nugent, Wood, Phillips and Taylor-Fletcher. What I would give for any of those right now… even at their current ages.

I think that when Mav has a bad game more Fatawu becomes the threat and often gets doubled up on.

I did like the look of Carranza in his brief cameo.

I’m really happy about this one. I remember watching him against us a couple of seasons back and hoped we would go in for him.

The reality is that all LCFC fans know it is beneficial to cut the squad to improve our financial situation and PSR, unfortunately the squad is being cut with the players we would rather stay and not the ones we don’t want. But that is the reality of it in a nutshell. If we want the player then more than likely other teams do to and if we don’t want the player then he probably isn’t being courted by others for a range of reasons but, my guess would be he isn’t good enough for the clubs that could match his wages.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I was wondering if there was a date when BEK’s release clause becomes invalid?

If there was one thing I noticed in the Fiorentina game it was the high press involved in Marti’s style and a lot of the team where really on it. Hopefully that will continue today.

Anyone have any idea who our captain and vice captain are this year? I would have thought Ricardo but he is often injured. Would have thought Wilf but he is on the way out. Not sure who after that.

With these players in our attack, and this manager and style, I would be tempted to have a big target man type as our focal point of the attack. Who is out there to fit that mould?

Whenever these things happen, I can’t help but think of the fans and be so thankful this hasn’t happened to us. I feel for them, I bet it is heartbreaking. Up the Owls!
