Recommended Posts

I made reference to this in a different post, but i coach a football team for kids with physical and mental impairments. We're always looking for new players, so if anyone is or knows of someone with a disability who wants to play football on a regular basis with other players of similar ability, please let me know and i'll give you all the details. Current squad age ranges from 8-18.

All our coaches are qualified to at least FA Level 1, and haveall undertaken The FA Coaching Disabled Footballers Course

We train every Monday evening and play in regular tournaments against other local pan disability teams

Both. We have players with physical disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy and partial blindness, and mental impairments such as downs syndrome and Autism

Unfortunately, due to the fact we play on grass, which can sometimes become quite boggy, we cant cater for wheelchair bound players

Where do you play? I am in touch with some people that are trying to set up a community mag/newsletter on different subjects. I have been asked to do something on sport. Not seen them for a few weeks cuz I have nothing done. This would be an opportunity to contribute something. Maybe just a short interview outlining what you do and a couple quotes from players as to what they get out of it.

We're in Bingham in Nottinghamshire, We have players from all over the East Midlands so its a nice central location for everyone.

Yeah i'd be up for doing an interview, and i'm sure a lot of the players would be willing to talk to you too, anything to help get our numbers up!

Problem there. No transport and I was only thinking locally. I was also thinking about contacting City Tigers etc about what they did outside games but do not know who to contact.
