stevenaive Posted 1 April 2016 Posted 1 April 2016 I know this could be in the supporters group forum but I wanted to ensure all Foxes in Sydney Down Under read it.... A few of us will be going to Star City Casino who have a 24/7 Sports Bar - check it out here.... https://www.star.com.au/sydney-nightlife/24-7-sports-bar We'll be there for most of the remaining games as several of them have favourable kick-off times for us now; typically 1030pm Sunday night. So the fun starts this Sunday night for the home game with Saints. Hope to see you all there from around 10pm if not earlier. At this nerve-jangling part of the season we need all the group support we can get so get off your couch and get down here. You'll regret it if you don't! Cheers, Steve
NewburyFox Posted 1 April 2016 Posted 1 April 2016 I'll come mate! Be good to watch with fellow foxes.
stevenaive Posted 2 April 2016 Author Posted 2 April 2016 See you there champ; hopefully a few more as well. Blue Army!!!
stevenaive Posted 3 April 2016 Author Posted 3 April 2016 Pressure building! Couple of beers to calm the nerves. See you there!!
stevenaive Posted 4 April 2016 Author Posted 4 April 2016 So the Star City experience can be summed up as follows: HUGE bar and big screen Probably about 20 or so fans scattered around, notably with several from global origins (Thai?) Picture breakup started around 30 mins (we were lucky to see the goal) and continued to total outage until around 60 mins. Reduced to streaming it on my mate's phone! Reception came back but we were then shifted to side screens with no sound to make way for the T20 WC Final!! We got the points but not a good experience. We left for the PBH at half-time but the rain turned us back. PBH for sure next time. Anyone know if the Foxtel issue was more widespread?

It is definitely not a FoxTel issue.. more like a StarCity issue
stevenaive Posted 8 April 2016 Author Posted 8 April 2016 Anyone fancy this weekend at either Star City or Pyrmont Bridge Hotel? Toying between going out or watching it at a mates....
NewburyFox Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 It is definitely not a FoxTel issue.. more like a StarCity issue I was in Cheers bar and had the same problems. The rain was horrendous. Anyone fancy this weekend at either Star City or Pyrmont Bridge Hotel? Toying between going out or watching it at a mates.... There were a good dozen (maybe more) Leicester fans watching the Saints game at Cheers bar, that's probably where I'll head again. One big screen, a couple of smaller screens and sound.
stevenaive Posted 8 April 2016 Author Posted 8 April 2016 Thanks mate; another good option to consider. Might see you there....
stevenaive Posted 10 April 2016 Author Posted 10 April 2016 SEE you all at Cheers bar. Please comment on how it was after the game if I don't....
wattolcfc Posted 10 April 2016 Posted 10 April 2016 I'm from Leicester but I'd love to see a photo full of City fans in random bars around the world watching together!
stevenaive Posted 26 April 2016 Author Posted 26 April 2016 Right, it's my birthday next Sunday - 45 years young. I will be out in Sydney. I understand there are gatherings in Cheers bar, PBH and Star City casino. Let's see if we can get all the City fans in the same spot shall we. If you don't go out for this one then shame on you. Please let me know!!!!!! COME ON!!!!!!
filbert st Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 There are a few of us heading to Cheers bar for the game. Hopefully see you there! And it's good to have another fan hoping for what could be the ultimate birthday present!
erlee Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 I 'll ring Vichai & see if he can chopper-drop a shipment of Singha beer for u fellas
NewburyFox Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 Seen on the Sydney supporters Facebook page that Cheers are offering a 10% discount on drinks if you're wearing a Foxes shirt
stevenaive Posted 1 May 2016 Author Posted 1 May 2016 I'll be there with some mates guys - can't bear the tension already....
stevenaive Posted 2 May 2016 Author Posted 2 May 2016 Holy moly what a night, what a game, what a turnout! Big question: who will be turning up for the Chelsea game??? If the results go our way we HAVE to be able to celebrate as a group; some cleansing ales to follow in the morning sun would be a beautiful way to celebrate a beautiful day!!
filbert st Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 A few pics from Cheers last night if anyone is interested. Haven't uploaded images before so apologies if this doesn't work...
filbert st Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 We actually live in Newcastle so we're going out for beers up here instead! Where are people planning on watching the Everton game / guard of honour / trophy ceremony? It's a 2:30am kickoff unfortunately which make it more difficult. I have spoken to Cheers and they have a 1:25am lockout and will stop serving alcohol at 3am. They will however stay open and show the whole game (but without alcohol after 3am). Interested to hear what everyone is keen to do.
