Northants Fox Posted 18 September 2005 Author Posted 18 September 2005 I know a lot about flytipping as well, as I get lots of flytipping in my front garden... I must say that the council are not very helpful on this!!! In this town we try to be, we've got our own flytipping team their job is to clear this mess up, we get a lot of trouble from travellers just tipping where they camp illeagally and it's left for us to clear when they've been moved on. I hate this part of the job but we have to pick up dead animals aswell.

Hmm not nice What annoys me is: 1) people choose to dump things into my garden rather than in the bin (one yard away from my garden) !?!?!? Even the LAZIEST people EVER should be able to use the bin in this case.... but no... it doesn't happen. People must be actively looking for flytipping opportunities as they are passing by my humble abode... 2) as soon as it's in your garden, the rubbish is your responsibility and you have to clear it up

The other day this guy passed by the hedge at the front of my property. It was about 5pm, he had just finished his beer, so probably thought "what better than sticking this empty beer can into the hedge here?", which he did, and then walked on. I saw that and was so mad that I (put my trainers on, found my keys), ran out, fetched the beer can and caught up with him (some distance from my house). I said "I think this may be yours". He looked a bit surprised, but not bothered. "Oh and you ran all the way for this?" I said I did and that I would appreciate him disposing of it properly. "Oh, I guess I will use the next bin then, if you really care about it that much". - he said. Some people!!!

That's the attitude of people today unfortunatly, the worst place in this town is at the eastern end doesn't matter what it is throw it in the street the council will clear it, as long as it's not in their house it's not their problem.
cisono Posted 18 September 2005 Posted 18 September 2005 Might be going to the gym today which probably means going in pool If you are not back by 4pm, we'll send out a recon team ... just in case
Matt Posted 18 September 2005 Posted 18 September 2005 I didn't bother going gym today Thing is I go to the gym and my "reward" type thing (Or prehaps not after what has been highlighted in this thread ) is to lounge around the pool, spa, sauna, steam room after the gym!

The OH goes mad at me because I will tell people how disgusting they are for dropping litter. What makes me is when people say, "it gives someone a job" as if this is some kind of justification. What's lost on them is the fact the money spent on paying someone to clean the streets could be spent on giving better care to those more needy in the community, perhaps even employing that same person to care for the old and/or sick instead of picking up after perfectly fit and healthy bone idle feckers. Rant over.
cisono Posted 18 September 2005 Posted 18 September 2005 I didn't bother going gym today Probably just as well... Thing is I go to the gym and my "reward" type thing (Or prehaps not after what has been highlighted in this thread ) is to lounge around the pool, spa, sauna, steam room after the gym! hmm or do you just go there to lounge around the pool etc? (ie no ACTUAL workout)?
Matt Posted 18 September 2005 Posted 18 September 2005 hmm or do you just go there to lounge around the pool etc? (ie no ACTUAL workout)? Nope I can feel myself getting fitter, before I could run but could only do a gentle run well lets be honest - jog, I can now run for about 15 - 20 mins at speed 10 which isn't that fast but fast enough and when I first started I would have died doing that, I then normally go on the rowing machine for 2000m, then on the bike for about 10 mins, and then to the weights. However it has been known in the past I have just gone to the pool!

Progress is always good However it has been known in the past I have just gone to the pool! Oh well, on days when you feel stressed out, that's probably the best option anyway. As long as it doesn't happen all the time and as long as that's not all that you do there
