No wonder football gates are in freefall.

That wasn't a passionate, exciting match between two clubs with an excellent footballing pedigree.

That was a vulgar two-fingered V-sign to every fan who paid good money to pass through the turnstiles.

Why didn't they make a tactical announcement beforehand and play the game behind closed doors?. How could the local council approve this sort of thing for an entertainment licence?

From the radio description it sounded worse that watching the steam subside on a piece of shit.

Levein sat in the stand, presumably cos he knew what was going to happen and could pull his cap over his eyes once play began.

It should be recorded that, true to his hint before the match, Leicester did use substitutions in order to boost the attack and try to pinch the match.

That particular adventure started about five minutes from time so it was not a great adventure...not an adventure you would want to write a book about (or even a sentence on the back of a postcard).

Not that there wasn't achievement. A point prised from Molineux, a clean sheet, the proud boast that apart from the four goals conceded at Sheffield United, City have now conceded only a goal a game in the remaining League matches.

We didn't actually score any goals of course. MDV might have managed one but was thwarted by a last ditch defenders challenge, or his own ineptitude, with the goal gaping. Joey had a decent shot and that was about that. There you are - exciting match facts from City's point of view in 36 words.

The only beneficiaries from that scenario were radio boys who will be able to re-use their notepaper for the next match cos there'll be sod-all written down from today.

And expect to see a blank where the Leicester City report is supposed to go in Monday's Mercury if they make an honest attempt to describe the highlights cos the 36 words was it and it's not worth waiting two days to read that.

The comment column might offer more scope.

Will they say City's forwards just aren't up to it? Well I don't know what they'd use for evidence cos there weren't any forwards. Forwards is a plural word. If City have a Christmas production this year MDV should we well qualified to play a camel standed all on his own in the middle of the desert.

If not a camel, he must have felt like the first f.....g soldier to leave the landing craft on D-Day and he'd have had more chance of surviving that little escapade than breaching the Wolves redoubt. What a thankless task he was given.

Not that Wolves sounded any better than Leicester. Douglas had barely a save to make and the only time the home crowd warmed up was when they rumbled for a booking or two - it was truly that bad.

And yet the pessimists' ammunition was blunted cos, on the day, City were every bit as good as Wolves and on their own patch. Or every bit as bad, when it came to providing entertainment.

Levein will doubtless insist we will build on this. Trouble is we draw every other game at Leicester. "The Draw Bores" is going to start appearing on City shirts before long.

But, for God sake don't blame the players. Clearly they had instructions and equally clearly, for the most part, they followed em.

If, as I believe, we draw away and win at home the team will climb, the confidence will come and the only downside will be having to send all the "away" tickets back to the home clubs and having to cancel the supporter coaches.

Cos surely no-one will actually travel to watch this sort of thing. Massochism has its limits. Doesn't it?

At least that shows he is not proud of the all-out boring defensive setup ... :P

I guess he was still hoping that - having kept a clean sheet in the first part of the game - (an achievement for us, particularly in an away game), bringing in Hume etc later may result in snatching an away victory...

Just kidding, I understand (and kind of share) the feelings you've described.

I feel really angry tonight, we are a passionless team going no where. Todays performance was absolutely dire, there was nothing positive to pull from it, we can pass and we can't score, we were lucky Wolves were suffering from injuries today and I believe that if they'd had a fit team then we'd have suffered badly.

Worse still was CL's summary on the radio after the game - how he can be happy with that performance beats me.

I'm considering getting a half season ticket at Christmas - the jury is still out!
