(Not sure if put anywhere else).... Vardy and Mahrez now on the shortlist for Best FIFA Men's Player 2016, alongside their Ballon d'Or nomination.

What's the difference between these two awards and which is the more prestigious to win?

It'd a caption competition right? or are they just accepting cash for the winner?

They are aproximatively the same award

 

heck they used to be one award but when FIfa and france football decided to split , each one has it's own version now the difference is that 
Ballon d'or is voted by a group of journalists 

and Fifa's best is voted 50% by the public and 50% by team captains and managers

but as I said on Reddit , Only the player that sells more will win and I'm not talking corruption here , but rather a sponsors point of view

so you can from now forget about Mahrez or Vardy winning , even tho it could be historic for both players and Leicester that one of them wins 

Ronaldo and Messi are better represented either on social media , sports channels , sponsors...etc

FIFA and France football aren't organizing these awards for the sake of "Good sports" but rather for "Grabbing attention" and getting that sweet sweet chocolate salty ad revenue 

 

that's my take on these fake awards i must say ... if you want an example 

Messi won the Golden ball for the best player of the 2014 Fifa world cup a prize he didn't deserve to win considering players like Muller and robben had bigger impacts in their teams results , unless you think wining 1-0 against Iran is better than 7-1 against brazil
