Samu Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Hey everyone, you're gonna have to help me out here a bit, I'm not very good with computers. I just started using I Tunes for my computer and its been really great so far. On the university network you can access other people's shared folders (it's probably the same for most unis). Some people allow you to listen to their music and some don't. I know it is possible to get their songs onto my I Tunes but I really don't know how. If anyone knows how it's possible the help would be greatly appreciated. I know you can get other people's music cos someone else has added some of my music. Hope that all made sense...like I said I'm so crap with using computers. Cheers everyone, sam

Cheers everyone, sam I'm pretty sure this would work: Click 'File' - 'Add file to library' and then find those music files you want to add. Or clicking 'Ctrl+O would work too....

Sorry I'm making a big mess of something which is probably simple for computer literate people.

I reckon you have to actually transfer (or download) the file from the other person's computer to your computer...then add it to ITunes. Because otherwise if you open/listen to a song which is shared by another user on the network, you are accessing the song from their computer - i.e. your computer does not store the file anywhere. Up the computer geeks!
