How many games do you require to judge a player or new signing?

  1. 1. Genuinely interested to see how many games people require to judge whether a player or new signing will potentially be a success or not?

This is a point too. Certain players you just know are great. Mahrez I said within about 3 games was going to be class. You could see it.

I'm not saying I'll write a player off after 10 games but you can tell by that point which way it's going I think.

Absolutely.

I know I might be wrong about Musa but I just fail to see anything that could lead me to think he has a future in the PL or in any of the 5 big leagues for that matter. I just can't. Ball control, vision, technique, passing, decision making, positioning, heading, he lacks just about everything that makes a good striker or winger or attacking player.

None of them, depends entirely on the situation. Laughable some people think they can tell after a couple of games.

You might be able to spot a world class talent that quickly. But you sure as hell cant spot the middle ground majority that make up this league.

We won the league with a squad that had pretty much to a man (with a few notable exceptions) been written off as not good enough. That says it all.

It's different for different players. I was there when Mahrez made his debut and you could see within 15 minutes the lad had something. Okay you couldn't tell he'd go on to be PFA player of the year but definitely he had something, nutmegging a player and playing a no-look through ball to Nuge in the channel.

Vardy looked short of confidence early on  -I remember him passing not shooting when 6 yards out in his first year and, again, confidence was the issue.

Musa, for example, just looks crap. he needs to be moved on.

Mendy is more difficult as he hasn't really had a chance. Personally I don't think we should keep him but you'd have to trust Shakey and the team based on what they see in training.

Slim doesn't seem to suit us and it's a shame we've annoyed Ulloa by bringing him in as at least Leo put more of a shift in.

He's the only player I've ever seen who looks less sure of what to do next than Schlupp.
