1977/78 Soccer Stars album

I've got that one as well. For me the Panini, Soccer Stars sticker albums and the football cards were a great way of remembering players

My hero

Darren had the same disease as me (Ulcerative Colitis) and also had his large intestine removed. The fact he still plays football at the top level is remarkable. I met him at a charity dinner for Crohn's and Colitis a few years ago and he was brilliant. He's an inspiration to many who've suffered with this condition.

Correct. Don't have any of mine anymore but can remember buying them and doing the swaps on the school playground. Could more or less recognise every player in the early seventies which still helps me now as most of them are still in there somewhere!

Do you remember the stick of bubble gum that came with the cards

ABC cards were great. Worth a fortune on eBay. The FKS sticker albums were the forerunner of Pannini . You had to glue those in yourself. There is a FKS album of 73/74 which has all the City players in a white strip

I watched a documentary about Panini recently and alot of their early success was based on having a card that  had self-adhesive rather than having to be glued in

That ruined it  for me. Glueing them in was far more satisfying
