Leicester City have helped make a dream come true for a local Arsenal fan.

Evington's Sukhan Hullait has been a mad-keen Gunners supporter from an early age.

But because of kidney failure at just seven-years-of-age, the now 30-year-old had previously only been to one football match before in his life.

Without spending five hours a time, three days a week visiting the Leicester renal dialysis unit, Sukhan would die.

To make matters worse, he suffered a stroke at the age of eight, which left him with disabilities to his right arm and leg.

Sukhan has always followed Arsenal's fortunes from afar but due to popular demand had never been able to get his hands on a ticket for a match - that's until the Foxes stepped in.

"I had contacted Arsenal via their website and telephone but had never been able to reach the right people - people who I felt sure would help if they understood my circumstances," said Sukhan.

Sukhan had almost given up hope when his close friend Kevin Blanks liaised with a contact at the Walkers Stadium to see if their influence could make that all-important difference.

City were more than happy to oblige and after several emails and telephone conversations between the two clubs, Arsenal had arranged for Sukhan to be a guest at their Premiership match against Birmingham at Highbury, which they went on to win 1-0.

"My mate and I had a truly brilliant day," added Sukhan. "I was so excited I couldn't sleep the night before.

"When I walked into the stadium and first saw the pitch, it was like a dream.

"We were very close to the pitch so we could see everything and the atmosphere and the noise from the fans was amazing.

"I am really grateful to Leicester for the big part they played in making my dream come true."

Peter Jones, Supporter Relations Manager at City, was pleased that the club had been able to assist Sukhan.

He added: "All football clubs recognise that their fans are vital to their on-going success.

"Despite the intense rivalry on the pitch, the majority of professional clubs have very good working relationships and we were more than happy to help when we were made aware of Sukhan's ambition.

"We were delighted to hear that he had a day to remember."

This is a great gesture by the club, it shows that there are some good people who work at the club. I'm proud that the club did this for somebody who doesn't even support the club. Well done LCFC :)

indeed - i agree. Like you said an excellent gesture and I'm really proud of the club doing something like that. I'm sure Sukhan will be over the moon with an opportunity like this - well done LCFC

A top gesture by the club, who says they don't care?

Top marks to all involved. And, for what its worth I have found City staff - and especially the girls in the ticket office, absolutely brilliant. The Jody Foster lookalike in there has a smile to brighten the darkest day - and everyone I've dealt with has been both fast and right on top of their jobs.

That doesn't mean that she is horny.

Probably just polite and doesn't want to lose her job...

HA ha!! Nice thought about the "older man" Lush but with seemingly half the City fans fancying her and doubtless a lean, fit, 6ft 6ins fella somewhere in the wings, I cannot somehow see myself forcing a way to the front of the queue.

And, it wouldn't be worth the risk anyway cos the prospect of 14-stones of a fast-becoming-flab 56-year-old is likely to wipe the smile off even her lovely face and I certainly wouldn't want that. The place would suddenly be shrouded in darkness.

I shall just look forward to buying my next tickets. Two minutes she takes to make me feel 30 years younger...it's marvellous how far a smile stretches sometimes. :P:P:P

I haven't seen a Jody Foster lookalike. :( Though i don't go very often. I've got a season ticket so no real need to go. She sounds nice though!

She's certainly worth a pair of away tickets purchase though

One for me, and have the other yourself  That'd get her
