The Fox Covert Posted 20 August 2019 Posted 20 August 2019 https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/european-football-drives-modern-slave-trade-of-young-africans/ar-AAFNzUW This morning MSN features a chilling article about young African footballers coming to Europe in the hope of a professional career. Thousands end up in slavery, victims of unscrupulous trafficking gangs. Al Bangura at Watford was one player who was a victim of trafficking as a youngster. The author of the report is a PhD student. Although the research is still a work in progress and it is not backed by any official body I am not surprised by the news.
David Guiza Posted 20 August 2019 Posted 20 August 2019 In some ways it's similar to the sex abuse cases involving Crewe/Chelsea etc. Individuals/group of individuals exploiting young, impressionable and ambitious young men/children for personal gain. Happens outside of Football too, with actors etc.
