I thought of Evans being captain the other day. I’d have Kasper as club captain but Evans (or Tielemans if you prefer) as match-day captain. 

 

Keepers are too detached from the game to have a bearing as a captain should. Speaking to the ref, calming situations down etc. They’re also naturally leading the team by organising what’s in front of them.

Not sure if you saw the article when Brendan went into detail about quite how astute Youri is, and how he thinks like a manger on the pitch. Certainly sounded like Brendan was impressed. Also not forgetting he used to captain at Anderlecht I think?

But agree Jonny would be good, certainly set the tone at Saints

I think you’ve misread my point there. I had only thought of Evans being captain but Youri is a good shout too. 

 

My point was that I’d go for an outfield player over the goalkeeper.
